Edits require sources

edit

Hello, I'm Ponyo. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Also, please do not include your signature in article space.-- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 22:12, 24 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

PLS STOP REMOVING MY EDITS

Hi Ponyo, I live in Colombia and as you can see I am editing content in english from my country to help people abroad better understand the TRUTH about some topics that appear in Wikipedia.

Can you please stop removing my contributions? it is not helpful to promote collaboration among users to do so.

besides I don't need to reference a different source as long I AM the source of the info I am adding.

Thank you. You can contact me any time (Redacted) It Efectivos (talk) 22:35, 24 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

@It Efectivos: you are incorrect. Wikipedia includes information that has been published in reliable sources, not any single individual's personal understanding of "truth" or their personal experiences and interpretations. Please review the links I provided in the welcome message on your talk page, and my subsequent note regarding sources, before editing further or you will likely continue to find yourself frustrated as your edits are reverted.-- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 22:41, 24 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Username block

edit

Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of name and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions other than promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 22:43, 24 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Requested username:

Request reason:

I understand the reason for my block was because I can not use any username related to any company nor post any company information on User Page, so it will be understood as promoting my own company. I also want to contribute to english speaker to better understand Colombian culture and help clarify wrong or defamatory statements in english from bad translations or bad sourcing that could lead to any misconception of the culture, people or manners. I also clarify that I am not receiving any payment to modify, delete or create or in general, contribute in any way to Wikipedia English knowledge. I will not repeat the kind of behaviour that lead to my account blocked. I also would like the administrators to kindly better explain why they delete or reverse a contribution related to the way a culture behave, or the fruits or juices it takes when I am living in the only place you can ask for a drink like Lulada? so the only way to contribute is by citing sources? I understood when some one from a culture add a reference to a manner the culture does something, it is also a great contribution without an specific digital source. At this point I have read a lot about Wikipedia Policies and I haven't find any mandatory "source citing" in all contributes. Thank You for your kindly clarification on this matter.

Decline reason:

You've had it explained to you why your edits were removed- we cannot accept edits based only in personal knowledge. All content must be sourced to a published independent reliable source, for verification purposes. You say you haven't read about citing sources, but that's part of one of the fundamental pillars of Wikipedia and we also have this page about it. This request does not convince me that the problematic behavior will not recur, and as such I am declining it. 331dot (talk) 09:28, 25 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
