Speedy deletion nomination of InZen Career Services & HR Solutions edit

A tag has been placed on InZen Career Services & HR Solutions requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. October 2009 edit

If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. TeapotgeorgeTalk 19:36, 4 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Cruise Ship Jobs edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Cruise Ship Jobs, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. --79.177.73.172 (talk) 21:58, 4 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Notification edit

Hello. It appears that your recent additions, and those of an IP acccount yesterday, may violate Wikipedia's policy on external links. See WP:EL and WP:Spam. I have placed a notice at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Spam#Inzen_Career_Services_links.

Wikipedia is not intended to be used for advertising, or to provide links to companies offering goods and services. It appears that your work is indended to broadcast such links. Kablammo (talk) 23:33, 4 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Your account has been blocked from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended or used for publicity and/or promotional purposes. Please read the following carefully.
Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. You have violated one or more of our rules, including rules against adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements, using Wikipedia for promotion, and editing inappropriately with a conflict of interest. This kind of activity is considered spamming and is forbidden by Wikipedia's policies. Although Wikipedia has a great many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, it is considered inappropriate for such groups to use Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.

Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?

Probably not. See Wikipedia:FAQ/Organization for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. See Wikipedia:Conflict of interest for the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, or organization. If this does not fit in with your goals here, you will not be allowed to edit again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

What can I do now?

You are still welcome to write about something other than your company or organization. If you do intend to make useful contributions on some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} below this message box.
  • Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
See also Wikipedia:Appealing a block for more information. Beeblebrox (talk) 23:48, 4 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

{{unblock-spamun|frank1801|Dear Wikipedians! First of all i'd like to thank you for keeping this encyclopedia clean. Since it's not the most thankfull job and you do it for free, i'll keep this post as short as possible.
I somehow do understand that you cannot include every SME, allthough i doubt that the history of some larger companies is any more fascinating at times. I checked the rules i got slammed with and ask myself what went wrong.

"See also: Wikipedia:Autobiography and Wikipedia:No original research#Citing oneself Editing in an area in which you have professional or academic expertise is not, in itself, a conflict of interest. Using material you yourself have written or published is allowed within reason, but only if it is notable and conforms to the content policies. Excessive self-citation is strongly discouraged. When in doubt, defer to the community's opinion. What is a conflict of interest? Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a forum for advertising or self-promotion, or a vanity press. As such, it should contain only material that complies with its content policies, and Wikipedians must place the interests of the encyclopedia first. Any editor who gives priority to outside interests may be subject to a conflict of interest. There are no firm criteria to determine whether a conflict of interest exists, but there are warning signs. Adding material that appears to promote the interests or visibility of an article's author, its author's family members, employer, associates, or their business or personal interests, places the author in a conflict of interest. When editors write to promote their own interests, their contributions often show a characteristic lack of connection to anything the general reader might want to consult as a reference. If you do write an article on an area in which you are personally involved, be sure to write in a neutral tone and cite reliable, third-party published sources, and beware of unintentional bias. Neutral point of view is one of Wikipedia's five pillars. Examples of these types of material include (selfpromotion):

  1. Links that appear to promote products by pointing to obscure or not particularly relevant commercial sites (commercial links).
  2. Links that appear to promote otherwise obscure individuals by pointing to their personal pages.
  3. Biographical material that does not significantly add to the clarity or quality of the article."

1) I didn't cite myself
2) I believe I stayed extremely neutral in both articles
3) These were not my first wiki articles, not were they supposed to be the last. Check the IP of "pop in wonderland" on the Belgian Wikipedia and you will find the same number on more then 1 article there. I only forgotten the log-in, so made a new one. The belgian one is not Blocked....
4) Since I also like an encyclopedia to be as complete as possible, i didn't put my own intrests first. If that was the plan, i would have made a Wiki page for myself too.
5) From the 3 external links i posted on Cruise Ship Jobs, 1 was my own. The list of cruiseship jobs with their monthly wages. I didn't see adding this link is "show(ing) a characteristic lack of connection to anything the general reader might want to consult as a reference". I do not have any connection with the 2 other websites(1 was a .edu("cite reliable, third-party published sources"))
6) Me nor my company are obscure.
7) I added 2 links to the cruiseship jobs article, none was made to inZen Career Services & HR Solutions, only the external link, wich is a long list(also mentioned in the rule book). Plan was to make a smaller list with wiki links to wiki job descriptions on the Cruise Ship Jobs page.

I do understand that writing my own name in the article can be seen as bibliographical. If this one sentence did not significantly add to the clarity or quality of the article, I appologise. Writing about your own company might also be seen as a sign of vanity, but i never mentioned the fact that we are the fastests growing European recruitment business specialised in cruiseship jobs, only send out the best, lower South African unemployment figures or offer the coolest jobs on earth.
That, to my beliefs, would be an act of publicity. All the best & Keep up the good work!!
With kind regards.

I wonder what the difference is between these companies (articles) and the one i wrote?

PPS: "AIDAdiva is a cruise ship operated by the German cruise line AIDA Cruises. The focus is on providing luxury comforts for those who prefer an active lifestyle." AIDA cruiselines can even repeat the same sentence as the only sentence on several pages of there ships for the last 3 years......... measuring with two sizes Wikipedia?? I can find another 10 examples easely. With kind Regards.

Sorry, just to clarify, are you agreeing not to write about yourself, or subjects you are affiliated with, if you are unblocked? Thanks. PeterSymonds (talk) 12:44, 5 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

I do.
I do have 2 questions for you too, though:
Don't you think that the links i posted on Cruise Ship Jobs are usefull to the article?("Please do not insert external links to your commercial website unless a neutral party would judge that the link truly belongs in the article"). Allthough it's not finished, but i will stay away from it if you say so.
Will the company page be put back online since there are many other smaller, yet important companies on Wikipedia?
Thanx for the info ! Inzencs (talk) 13:22, 5 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

The second argument doesn't fly on Wikipedia. An article stays or goes based on its notability and sources, not based on the existence of similar articles. -Jeremy (v^_^v Tear him for his bad verses!) 04:15, 8 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

I have unblocked you since you have agreed not "not to write about yourself, or subjects you are affiliated with". Please keep this assurance in mind going forward. Happy editing.

Unblocking administrator: Please check for active autoblocks on this user after accepting the unblock request.

Thanx Xeno!! I thought that would never happen :)
Can I get rid of all the red on my 'talk' page now?
Beside the fact that some articles are easely unmasked as an internal marketing/defence move, I'm still glad Wikipedia is strict about it's content and 'soft' policy. If it ain't quality you should delete it or put it on hold, just as you did with mine (next time put it on hold untill the Google spider caught me, M'kayyeee!!;).

My next goals on wiki.org..... find the bad guys who want to put up a wiki page and then ask for a 'speedy deletion', aka; be an admin :)

Greeting from F*ç£ing cold Belgium ;)

Back to Work :)

PS: Who is the guy that deleted my post? Is he one of the 'Elders' that everybody obeys to? No Disrepect for the Wiki Elders who do this (propably) for free (i think), but I believe some more clarity in the rulebook would do many good. Then at least we have somthing to rebel against, again..........

Inzencs (talk) 15:54, 15 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Article deletions and user blocks are done by Wikipedia administrators. However, admins do not make the many policies and guidelines, those are made by the community at large. We are not "elders to be obeyed" actually our symbol is a mop because we are charged with cleaning up the encyclopedia. And yes, we do this thankless job for free because we believe in this project and what it represents. The unfortunate thing about Wikipedia is that it has grown so large and so many problematic situations have arisen over the years that the "rulebook" is in fact huge, and to make matters worse, it's not all in one place, but spread out over dozens if not hundreds of pages, and only a liar would claim they know and understand every word of it. Luckily, we have the five pillars of Wikipedia, the foundation upon which all the other policies are based. Read that, and you will understand what Wikipedia is and how it is supposed to work.
