Reference at Ivar Martinsen edit

Hello Infogapp1. Please check if the reference you are using are for the correct person. In the case of your edits on the norwegian speed skater you added a reference of a namesake who died about 5 years earlier than the speed skater. I have removed the reference and corrected the death place accordingly as given in the reference gives as number one in norwegian langauage you can also see the same at the profile-links to Sports-reference and to Olympedia. @Migrant: Ah yes, of course, that's noted. Honest mistake, and thanks for pointing it out. --Infogapp1 (talk) 19:31, 6 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
Actually just double-checked the article in question, and the information was already there in death place section, not date. I just moved in its appropriate box, but thanks for fact-checking and rectifying it on your end. --Infogapp1 (talk) 19:33, 6 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Please, don't be rude edit

Please read this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Don%27t_be_rude and try to avoid insulting newcomers with your sarcasm. Thank you. - — Preceding unsigned comment added by NJ18 (talkcontribs)

@NJ18: Can you be more specific about what rudeness are you referring to? Without any context, I'm unable to comprehend your note. — Infogapp1 (talk) 18:16, 13 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
Aha, So you're referring to my deletion vote on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Toner Buzz. It was an unbiased review of the article, which clearly is promotional. If somehow you are unhappy with the review, feel free to jump in the deletion thread and add your vote as to why you think it merits its own Wikipedia article. Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia, and it's not a place for advertising. Please read through Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not for more information. You may also want to begin by reading these pages :

Good luck and happy editing, and please refrain from using the platform to advertise as you may get banned in the process. — Infogapp1 (talk) 18:25, 13 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Infogapp1: Your vote for deletion is perfectly fine. I have no objection to that. This comment was about your sarcastic tone, which is insulting and unnecessary (in my opinion). I would totally understand and accept your vote without any sarcasm from your side. My edit might look promotional and I agree that it must be deleted if there is a consensus on that. However, I believe this should not be enough to make a conclusion about my intentions (I tried to read Wikipedia policies and guidelines as much as I can before creating the page and wanted to act in good faith doing so). Your tone discouraged me from further Wikipedia edits. I hope you will keep this in mind in your communication with other newcomers in the future.
I believe you the power over your thoughts and decisions. If you choose to be offended, then, unfortunately, it's your choice. No one else can decide for you. The comment was about the company, and not a direct attack of you. If anything, it simply reflects the limited information about the company that you had to resort to a community-generated source in your edit. If you, however, have very close relations with the company and you felt compelled to be offended on their behalf, then that's another issue which may fall under COI (Wikipedia:Conflict of interest). I hope you decide to stick around, and when you do, be more mindful of your edits and don't impose your emotions too much on others in the community. We're all here to make the community better. Instead of choosing to be offended (which again, was not even my intention) you need to step up your game and simply familiarise yourself with the community rules. — Infogapp1 (talk) 19:25, 13 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Tagging of Kieran Maguire edit

I recently removed a speedy delete tag that you had placed on Kieran Maguire. I do not think that Kieran Maguire fits any of the speedy deletion criteria  because There are multiple claims of significance here, including the book, the university awards, and the podcast. None of which says that this would be found notable at an AfD, of course.. If you wish, you may try using the simple proposed deletion (PROD) process, or the full articles for deletion (AfD) process, instead. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 16:55, 14 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi, thanks for the heads up. I'll take another look and perhaps go through the usual AfD. Appreciate the note. — Infogapp1 (talk) 16:59, 14 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
No problem. I found this while patrolling Category:CSD. A WP:BEFORE search might or might not turn up significant additional coverage. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 17:02, 14 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
Thank you very much, documentations are always very helpful. I understand the difference between the two as I've been flagging a few of these on Simple, but for some reason the verbage differences in the interfaces confused me. RfD vs XfD :D — Infogapp1 (talk) 17:41, 14 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion declined: Javnyuy Joybert edit

Hello Infogapp1. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Javnyuy Joybert, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The award nomination/2nd place is enough on its own for A7. The rest isn't very spammy. Not sure there's enough to pass the GNG, but that's decided at AfD, not CSD. Needs to be relisted at AFD if necessary. Thank you. GedUK  15:41, 15 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi, thanks for letting me know. I meant to flag it as AfD, so I just did that now. I was still getting used to interface differences between Simple and EN. Thanks for your patience. — Infogapp1 (talk) 16:14, 15 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Vance Dixon article edit

Thanks for the help with the Vance Dixon article. I haven't created an article in a few years now and I was trying my best to get a start on one. I was listening to the radio earlier and heard one of his songs when he was Vance Dixon and His Maniacs. When I went to look him up, I found nothing, and to make it worse he just disappears without a trace after 1936 and nobody knows what in the heck happened to him. monsieurdl (talk) 23:14, 14 Jun 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for your note and hope to see you and your contributions around Wiki more often. — Infogapp1 (talk) 15:05, 16 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
