Re: Blondie discography
Re. the deletion of images on these pages, we obviously have very different views on what can be considered fair use in articles of this category and since I'm not the least bit interested in starting some edit war and resort to threats etc. over a silly thing like this - so before you delete the rest with the same sort of explanations, why don't we consult an editor, ask his opinion on the matter and come to some constructive solution instead?
Thanks for your time,
Dreamer.se (talk) 13:44, 17 April 2008 (UTC)Dreamer.se
- Again, we obviously have very interpretations of what those fair use rules really entail, like most users on Wikipedia - all of those pictures are there for a reason - and since that is the case I see no other option than asking an editor for assistance. Until then; can you leave what is there until the editor has a chance to review your edits and explanations as well as mine and make up his own opinion on the matter?
- Thanks in advance,
- Dreamer.se (talk) 14:08, 17 April 2008 (UTC)dreamer.se
- Re. images, as much as I appreciate the gesture I'd rather take that discussion with the assistance of user Ericorbit and an editor. But if you really do want to make a contribution to the Blondie discography, to really bring something to it - why not expand the bios with more information about the different releases, formats, the songs, composers, chart info, inspiration for lyrics, quotes from biographies etc. etc.? Any help there would be greatly appreciated.
- Thanks again,
- PS. Note: release dates for UK/US 7"/12" singles differ from case to case, sometimes with up to three months or more.
- Dreamer.se (talk) 07:12, 18 April 2008 (UTC)dreamer.se
- Naaah, not an ogre, I agreed with some of your points and I'm glad to see you guys working to collaborate on these case-by-case, I think that's the best thing. I'll also take a closer look if you guys want me to. Perhaps we can take into account the success of each single in particular markets to determine whether specific covers should be included. Like I mentioned on dreamer's page "In the Flesh" should probably have the Australian cover there - songs like "Atomic" have weird histories too, huge in the UK but not-so-huge in the U.S..... however a remix of the song topped the U.S. dance chart years later in 1995, so maybe that could stand as an example where a re-issue cover could be displayed. Also just FYI, I understand your desire to split "The Tide Is High" but cover versions are normally included within the same article and as these are about the song, any covers are part of the song's history, especially if they're notable (and Blondie themselves covered it, so there ya go). Anyhoo, hit me up for any input! - eo (talk) 11:09, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

I left a response at the MJ FA. Cheers. Realist2 (talk) 17:46, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
- I resolved that citation, someone made a simple era, i should have picked up on it but i was very tired, sorry. As far as i can see all sources are now reliable and well formatted. Ive resolved everyones issues, one editer left a resolved sign but noted that more pictures would be nice, i got two more from wiki commons to keep him happy. The only other issue then was the amount of money Jackson has given to charity. Original it said Three hundred million, i have a source for it but the user has concerns about its reliability as its a foreign newspaper. Unfortunately we cant use youtube to source it because i could have just given a link to him receiving the award. never mind. So in the end i kept the foreign source and used my book. The book i have only says several hundred, understandable its hard to know exactly how much a person raises/gives to charity. Im prepared to put the 2 sources together and stick with several hundred for the sake of peace. Its a shame we cant use 300 million when its right their on youtube but never mind. Realist2 (talk) 19:37, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
How could i source it without a link? It was at the 2006 worlss music awards, who would the publisher be? The TV channel it aired on? Realist2 (talk) 14:21, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
here is a link to the award show, i think we should be alowed to use it as a fair use rational or something. Realist2 (talk) 15:23, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
OK ill look into it, for now i have a reliable source that says several hundred so im ok sticking with that for the mean time. Could you give yuour thoughts on the michael jackson article. Ive resolved everyones issues, i need some more feedback or for people to start endorsing FA. No1 is speaking about it anymore and im waiting patiently. I would like your thoughts very much. Realist2 (talk) 15:35, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
Additionally if you dont want to get involved in the MJ FA i can also inform you that Thriller is back on Peer review. Cheers. Realist2 (talk) 16:49, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
OK i will, would that be interms of replacing old sources with that source or physically adding more content to the article using that as a source. Realist2 ('Come Speak To Me') 21:55, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
OK , I will do, you might want to add something to the peer review just so that we pretend its used properly, lol. No1 has added anything. Realist2 ('Come Speak To Me') 03:29, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
Additionally the mj article seems to have reached a stail mate, ive resolved all issues and its had 2 further copy edits. What happens if everything is done, and no-one says oppose? Realist2 ('Come Speak To Me') 03:33, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
- OK just for you though ;-), i actually hate indents i really do, i would much rather people write in bullet points actually. Wait till i become the lord of wikipedia, there will be some changes around here. I never thought 5 days was short, i thought that was really long, im a little more relaxed now, im concerned because no1 is saying anything negative yet people wont endorse FA. I hope people arent afraid to endorse because its a controversial subject. What you think of my new name formatt?? Realist2 ('Come Speak To Me') 04:20, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
- Wow, look a second indent, you must be lucky :-), your more wise than i thought, just an hour after you reassured me about the FA review, it got its first support. Lol so so wise. Additionally ive used that source you suggested. It wasnt terribly helpful, 1/3 of it was about the music video "Thriller" which already has its own page on wiki, the other 2/3 was the same (but more indepth) interview that can be found on the 2001 reissue of the album. Its the exact same interview as ive already used in the article with a few extra bits. None the less i manages to expand the article by just over 1000 bytes. Take a look, see if ive made any mistakes (lol i usually do). Realist2 ('Come Speak To Me') 07:22, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
- Hi again, would you like to add any further thoughts to the MJ FA review, its improved further since your last look. I appreciate your advise and ideas. Cheers. Realist2 ('Come Speak To Me') 05:37, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
S Club update
Hi there, I've been working quite hard on the S Club article over the last couple of days, trying to address your comments on the FAC nomination. I was wondering whether you'd take a look at the Hollywood 7 and Viva S Club sections and let me know if this is the direction you wanted to see the article move in. I've tried much harder to tell a story, and although I'm working backwards from the split to the formation, I think I've made a pretty good go. Obviously this isn't a peer review or another FAC nomination, so there are still some things I need to do (like sort out the discography section, etc.) but it'd be great if you could just take a quick peek and let me know if things are going okay... There's a bit I need to add to the end of the Hollywood 7 section which explains the cut off with the "You" bit.. but I have to go now so thought I'd message you so you'll have replied by the time I get back. Sorry that this message has been incredibly disjointed and probably doesn't read very well... - ǀ Mikay ǀ 13:51, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
Richard Dawkins FA nom
Hey indoplug, please take a look when you have a spare moment at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Richard Dawkins to see if your issues have been addressed on this FA nomination. Cheers, AC+79 3888 [ talk ] 17:38, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
- Hello Indopug. AC and I have worked hard on the article. Your help will be appreciated. If you find any errors in the article, please correct them. Regards, Masterpiece2000 (talk) 02:44, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
Hello Indopug. How is the following section section is superficial?
Dawkins has delivered a number of inaugural and other notable lectures, including the Henry Sidgwick Memorial Lecture (1989), first Erasmus Darwin Memorial Lecture (1990), Michael Faraday Lecture (1991), T.H. Huxley Memorial Lecture (1992), Irvine Memorial Lecture (1997), Sheldon Doyle Lecture (1999), Tinbergen Lecture (2004), and Tanner Lectures (2003).
He has delivered these lectures! I don't think it is a superficial section. A table for Dawkins' books is necessary. I don't think we need List of works by Richard Dawkins. We can cover it in the article.
You have raised some interesting points. Indopug, the article suffered for long due to vandals and POV pushers. Because of that, the article just couldn't improve. Now, we are making an effort to improve the article. Regards, Masterpiece2000 (talk) 04:38, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

First, I see no discussion at Template talk:Album or at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Albums about removing the importance parameter. Second, the project template specifically mentions importance as a field, along with its assessment scale. Third, the importance category itself was created in August 2006 so someone was thinking about it more than two months ago. Fourth, there are thousands of article that have been tagged with the importance field (along with the ones already there, there is still the old categories that slowly are moving over). If you want it eliminated, discuss it with the 200 or so members of the project rather than asking for a unilateral decision that changes over 60k articles. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 07:17, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

I asked helped from them but it seems they're adding more stuffs to clean-up (while fixing grammars). I will do some clean-up there. For the pics, I was even wondering why Orane was prefering with that image which is obviously not focus. Redirects...
While I'm not necessarily opposed to the redirection of non-notable songs, it would be appropriate to ensure that all notable information within that song article is in the album article. Looking at your the time stamps on your contribs, I'm guessing your not checking first. cheers --Merbabu (talk) 11:38, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
PS, in theory there's a quite a bit of merit in it, and I once half heartedly proposed it previously on U2 related song articles. Indeed, if the notable info from the song articles is included in the album articles, then the album articles are stronger. Anyway, as long as the redirection process doesn't result in a deletion of info, then this info can always be checked for inclusion in album articles at a later date. best regards. --Merbabu (talk) 11:45, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
Radiohead redirects
Hi Indopug. I've noticed that you've redirected a lot of pages on Radiohead songs to their respective album articles. While I agree with Merbabu on the fact that it's not necessarily a bad idea to have these be redirects, you've deleted a lot of valuable info on these songs by redirecting them without ensuring that any notable information is transferred back to the album article. As a person who just recently bought two of Radiohead's albums in the past week, I've been relying on these pages to give me background information on some of these songs and was surprised to see it all gone today. Also, simply because a song wasn't released as a single doesn't mean that it isn't a notable song. Radiohead don't often release singles and oftentimes many other songs from their albums become notable in their own way (for just one example, the article from the song Lucky contains info on it's appearance on The Help Album) Anyway, I hope you take my advice and consider restoring the pages or at least transferring any song-specific information onto the respective album's article. Have a good day! —Mr. Strong Bad/talk 16:13, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

What? Did you delete the adding on of Putting Out Fire? Not a popular song? According to who? I hear it all the time where I am. The song fits in this section as it was played constantly when the film was released, and natural for him to be a part of this song. I was introduced to Bowie by this song in London, England, prior to the release of the film. Besides, it fits this section without a doubt. Don't you think that Bowie's career should be covered in every detail on Wikipedia? Adding relevant information makes a big improvment on Wiki. This singer is known in many arts of the world and by giving a personal opinion on relevant information is not fair. Incorrect judgement on your own personal view on a song or part of his life that introduced more fans to the singer. You got me stumped on this. Electric Japan (talk) 12:19, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
