Welcome! edit

Hello, Immcarle113, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Elysia and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. Thank you! I am publishing this just as a test because my name is still red at the top of my page. Immcarle113 (talk) 16:55, 31 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

These are some initial sources I found that would be good to use for my article:

- I added a citation from: Reis, E.S., Falcão, D.A., Isaac, L., 2006. Clinical aspects and molecular basis of primary deficiencies of complement component C3 and its regulatory proteins factor I and factor H. Scand. J. Immunol. 63, 155–168. This will be useful because it is a review of both the causes and symptoms/diseases caused by C3 deficiency.

- Okura, Yuka et al. “Clinical Characteristics and Genotype-Phenotype Correlations in C3 Deficiency.” The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology 137.2 (2016): 640–644.e1. Web. This is a very short article, but is a more recent sort of meta-analysis and will be useful for summarizing the clinical characteristics of C3 deficiency (severe infections, rheumatic diseases, and renal diseases). It also includes the median age of onset of symptoms.

- Skattum, Lillemor et al. “Complement Deficiency States and Associated Infections.” Molecular Immunology 48.14 (2011): 1643–1655. Web. This will be useful because it is a review of all types of complement deficiency, including a technical section on C3 deficiency.

- Degn, Søren e, Jensenius, Jens c, and Thiel, Steffen. “Disease-Causing Mutations in Genes of the Complement System.” The American Journal of Human Genetics 88.6 (2011): 689–705. Web. This is from the same year as the one by Skattum et al. and covers much of the same information, but also provides a helpful explanation of how lack of factor I and factor H relates to C3 deficiency (it "leads to uncontrolled complement activation and consumption of C3") Immcarle113 (talk) 23:19, 1 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Peer Review edit

Hello I'm Immcarle133 and I reviewed your page. Here is the link to my evaluation page. I answered all of the evaluation questions there.
