editHi. I'm afraid you can't create a category of musical group, then go around articles deciding for yourself which groups retrospectively could have been defined by it. You need this term supported by the article, and by cites within the article.
As far as I can see "Co-ed group' is a Neologism, so defining groups from the 70s, 80s and 90s is highly dubious. They weren't known by it at the time, and unless you have some present day cite using it to describe them, Wikipedia cannot be the one to label them with it.
I've also added a comment to the Co-ed groups talk page. You need to demonstrate that this is a term used in places other than South Korea, and you need a source that defines it.
I'm happy to help you with this, but the only places I could find it mentioned seem to be exclusively in relation to K-Pop and other South Asian pop scenes. I'm not convinced it is a term used with any frequency elsewhere. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 15:01, 11 April 2017 (UTC)

Could you give me some guidelines on how to make an article about those groups that are not 'boy bands' not 'girl groups' not asian or latino coed groups but western mixed groups? You know because if you go to the article of boy bands, they mention groups that were there even before the term 'boy band' ever existed.
- As an encyclopeadia, everthing on Wikipedia starts with the reliable sources and citing them. If you have reliable sources that define "co-ed group" and/or mention bands as being a "co-ed group" then you have a strong foundation for your article.
- But you cannot really take an unsourced definition (e.g. a pop band with both boys and girls) and then determine whether a band meets your definition, and is therefore a "co-ed group". This is what we call "original research" because it all depends on your "research". Wikipedia does not use original research. It is also complicated by the fact that you may not term all pop bands with mixed genders as "co-ed groups". So who exactly decides? Wikipedia and you, or I, doesn't make those decisions.
- So you can see the problem with associating "co-ed group" with bands that ceased to be before the term was ever defined. The band obviously never called themselves this, and nor did any reliable sources of the time. So unless a source has done this retrospectively for you, you can't be the one to decide that, for instance, "A-teens", were a co-ed group. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 11:17, 16 April 2017 (UTC)
