Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Olga Miler edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Olga Miler, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Hi Giraffer. I do not see a buttom labelled "contest this speedy deletion" anywhere. But I do in fact want to contest it. I read the writing criteria of Wikipedia. The article I wrote is evidence based and relevant. Whether it is promoting or not: what do you understand by promoting if I may ask? The guidelines do not sharply define the criteria and your interpretation of what "promotion" is seems arbitrary and highly subjective. In other words: If a person is doing good and wins prices and is a strong role model for younger women, and if then her bio is portrayed on Wikipedia, why should this be "promotion"? Many other role models are portrayed and not deleted. Where do you draw the line and how would the article need to be rewritten differently so that it is not deleted? The person I portrayed is an ambassador for gender equality and has won many prices. I want to increase womens' visiblity on Wikipedia (also a member of an association with the same goal). Thanks for removing the tag or, alternatively, let me know how the article would need to be rewritten to meet your (subjective) interpretation of promotion. Kind regards Ilikechocolate1976 (talk) 13:30, 11 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Do you have any connection to Olga Miler? Giraffer (talk·contribs) 15:08, 11 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi Giraffer. No I do not. I formed part of a completely independent edit-a-thon organized by national media and journalists that aim to increase the number of women bio's on Wiki (https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Wikimedia_CH/Frauen_f%C3%BCr_Wikipedia), either on DE or EN version of Wiki, depending on the woman's bio. I choose Olga because she fulfills the Wiki relevancy criteria, is active in UK (check Cherie Blair Foundation, the NGO who is active in the field of gender equality and financial inclusion). So please, kindly undelete. Everything else is so very frustrating for all of us women who try to make this world a better place and get women more visible so that they can become role models to young girls.
