Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, club, organization, company, or website, I have blocked this account from editing. You are welcome to continue editing after you have chosen a new username that complies with Wikipedia's username policy.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable, regardless of the username that you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid or compensated in any way, you must disclose who is paying you to edit here.

Please take a moment to either create a new account, or request a username change of your current account here. The new username that you choose must represent you as an individual person, and it must comply with Wikipedia's username policy.
  • To create a new account with a different username, simply log out of this account and then click here to make a new one.
  • If you prefer to change the username on this account, you may do so by adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken or in use by another account. You can go here to search and see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is available to be taken.

Please also note that you are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it also identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".

Appeals: If your username does not represent a group, organization, website, or other entity described above, and if you believe that this block was incorrect or made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

Hi! I saw your post here. I'm afraid our policy on corporate accounts and shared accounts is very different from that on de.wp – we don't allow them, full-stop (see above!). I understand that this may be surprising or even confusing if you thought you were acting correctly.
If you do decide to create a new account for yourself only as an individual, please note that we also strongly discourage editors with a conflict of interest from directly editing any affected article. I'll leave you a wall of pre-packaged text about that below. Sorry about all this, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 13:01, 7 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, IQWiG. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 13:03, 7 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Well, then that's it

edit

Hi Alexf and Justlettersandnumbers, thanks for your posts and explanations on the fundamental differences between the rules in EN WP and DE WP. Unfortunately, my appeal and reason have just been overwritten by an editing conflict. As I understand the situation, there is no chance for us to update the article about our institute - which is a pitty, as the text is really outdated and we are a relevant institution not only in the German health system but also on EU level. We don't promote anything. -- Andrea Kamphuis / IQWiG (talk) 13:19, 7 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Andrea, you can request corrections of errors or omissions of basic fact in the article by making a request on the talk-page; you'll need to either rename your account or create a new one in order to do that, of course. I will try try to answer any (reasonable) question you ask on this page. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 21:55, 7 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for the kind offer; I will do so. --Andrea Kamphuis (talk) 09:23, 18 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
