Afd

edit

You removed the AFD sticker on Rough Science Boys, please do not it again as it is considered vandalism. As well, by just taking the sticker off, it does not do anything to prevent the article from getting voted on for deletion.   Croat Canuck   05:22, 30 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Cinemascope

edit

I re-edited the Anastasia section that you wrote on Cinemascope, because while it was indeed credited in Cinemascope, it was not actually shot with it. It's a bit confusing, but has to do with trademarks, Don Bluth's personal proclivity, and the technical limitations of Cinemascope lenses that would make using them for animation all but impossible. Let me know if you have any concerns with the edits. Thanks! Girolamo Savonarola 21:41, 15 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Doogal

edit

Please do not re-add Doogal to the page at Films considered the worst ever before discussing it on the talk page of the article. It was released less than a month ago in the US, and that fact alone makes it unlikely to be labelled a "worst ever" at this time. Also, finding a quote from a major movie critic labelling it as a "worst ever" would go a long way towards the argument of including it on the page. Thanks. Turnstep 15:07, 21 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

IMDB ratings in the infobox

edit

Hi, I notice that you replaced the IMDB rating in the film infoboxes on Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones that I had previously removed. I'm not convinced that this is at all a good idea, and what little discussion there has been of it (see Template talk:Infobox Film#IMDB Ratings) supports this. If you think otherwise, perhaps it would be productive to state why on that page? Regards, Ziggurat 04:20, 16 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Ice age meltdown.jpg but you have forgotten to include a detailed fair-use rationale for your use of this image. Without that, I'm afraid we may have to remove the image. Sorry. --Yamla 21:22, 27 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

All copyrighted images uploaded to Wikipedia must be done so under a fair use rationale, mentioning why that copyrighted image must be used. (Free alternatives are preferred, but in some cases, you must use a copyrighted image to get your encyclopedic message across.) You must make sure all images you upload under fair use contain such rationale. Please see Wikipedia:Fair use for details. Tangotango 02:33, 28 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
Please let me know if you are going to go back and fix all of the images you have uploaded. Many of them (for example, Image:MulhollandDrivePoster.jpg) could easily have a fair-use rationale provided. Without this, though, we are going to have to reject your images. Please let me know right away what you intend to do. Thanks. --Yamla 05:00, 28 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

I NEED EVEN MORE HELP! AND I NEED WIKIPEDIA TO ADVERTISE MY FILMS!

Sorry, Wikipedia is not to be used for advertising. --Yamla 05:03, 28 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia is not to be used for "films" such as Chocolate's Web or Rough Science Boys: The Movie. This is completely inappropriate. In addition, virtually all of your image uploads have been blatant copyright violations or images without source, without license, or without any mandatory fair-use rationale. Until you have fixed all these images, please do not upload any further. Wikipedia takes copyright violation very seriously. Additionally, I do not want to see you creating any more articles for "films" you have released or plan to release on YouTube. This is your last warning. --Yamla 01:51, 28 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hello, the user is referring to your articles, which he/she thinks violates the notability, and possibly the verifiability guidelines. Please make sure your articles follow these, as they are policy. Also, all images you upload should have a valid source/copyright description. Please see Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for that. Cheers, Tangotango 02:31, 28 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
IKR1, your addition of quotes and songs to the Chocolate's Web page is even less appropriate. Please do not contribute any more content to Wikipedia until you have read WP:N and WP:NOT. I appreciate your desire to advertise your "films" but Wikipedia is not the place for it.

Pages nominated for deletion

edit

You said: "This dosent make any sense! Im trying to spread the word of my movies and the're up for deletion? What makes you so special to delete my films?"

First, as has been repeatedly pointed out to you, Wikipedia is WP:NOT to be used for advertising. Secondly, as has also been repeatedly pointed out to you, your films are simply not notable. Additionally, they are blatant copyright infringements of the original movies. Finally, anyone can nominate any page for deletion. Of course, if you do so without justification, you'll be blocked. But as you can see, the common consensus is that these pages are not worthy of Wikipedia articles. Please go and read WP:NOT and WP:N. One final note, if you really are 11 years old, you are violating YouTube's conditions of use as well. --Yamla 18:55, 28 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Removing tags

edit

Do not remove tags from articles without resolving the underlying problem. Edits such as this one are blatant vandalism and if I catch you doing this again, you will be blocked. This is your last warning. --Yamla 19:03, 28 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Rough Science Boys: The Movie

edit

I have speedy deleted Rough Science Boys: The Movie, as a recreation of deleted material (see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rough Science Boys). Do not recreate the article. The correct process is to undertake Wikipedia:Deletion review, but considering that the AfD discussion the outcome probably won't be favourable for you.

By the way, the Removing_tags section above is rubbish, you were perfectly correct to remove the Prod tag. I will speak to the editor.--Commander Keane 07:33, 29 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yet another article you have created has been nominated for deletion. This time, it is for Chocolate's Web Song Lyrics. If you do not stop creating non-notable articles, you may be blocked permanently. Instead of creating these articles, why not stop and consider contributing productively to the Wikipedia? --Yamla 22:00, 29 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Chocolate's Web notability assertions

edit

Greetings! I notice something missing from the Chocolate's Web article which is necessary for inclusion in Wikipedia: links to the independent reviews of the movie or other similar items that establish the notability of this web content. Without such information, Wikipedia policy does not allow the articles to remain on the site.

That rule is in place to be fair to everybody; all articles have to meet the criteria to stay up. I'd love to see articles about a couple of my creations, "Saturn Disturbance" and "The Day of the Rubber Chicken," but they never were big enough to get a newspaper write-up, never got a review by a columnist, so until I go out and promote them elsewhere and make them that well known, they won't go on Wikipedia.

Which brings me back to Chocolate's Web: can you point me toward some reviews of the movie or something similar, done by other people, to establish that the movie is noteworthy enough to have an article on Wikipedia? If the reviews are out there, I'm willing to help you keep the article up. If they aren't, then I have to go along with the rules. —C.Fred (talk) 23:48, 29 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Blocked

edit

You have been blocked for 24 hours. You have been told over and over and over and over and over again that you cannot use Wikipedia for advertising or for non-notable content. This addition of your "film" to the List of animated feature films is entirely inappropriate. This is particularly the case because your "film" is not a theatrical release, nor a made-for-tv release, nor a direct-to-video movie. It is also possible, though I'm not at all sure on this point, that your "film" is also less than 40 minutes long. Additionally, films, if appropriate, must be added in alphabetical order. Combined, these violations and your continual blatant advertising and vanity articles necessitate this block. --Yamla 16:47, 30 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Email

IKR1, I would like to contact you via email to discuss a couple of issues. You do not have your profile tied in to a user account and so I cannot contact you directly. Additionally, I would ask that you please consult with a parent or teacher before doing so (this is a good general policy). If you prefer, I am quite happy to converse here instead but would rather keep the conversation private through email. That said, I would of course encourage your parent(s) or teacher(s) to read the email. I would just like to explain the problems with your movies and the reasons why many of your edits are reverted here on Wikipedia. Please let me know. Thanks. --Yamla 18:30, 14 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Unspecified source for Image:Tatcdvd.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Tatcdvd.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Non-free use disputed for Image:FootloosePoster.jpg

edit
  This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:FootloosePoster.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Videmus Omnia 23:27, 5 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Unspecified source for Image:Herculesone-sheet.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Herculesone-sheet.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Potd.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Potd.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 15:32, 20 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:The Human Stain poster.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:The Human Stain poster.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Petramis (talk) 08:23, 1 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:LOTRROTKmovie.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:LOTRROTKmovie.jpg.

Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 17:39, 2 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
