I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Also, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome!

User warnings

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to Lapithas, without good reason. They need to have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. We have some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you.

If you thought that that was a bad title, you should move it using move. Move is in the drop-down menu next to the star. If that doesn't do it, go to WP:Requested Moves to request it. Purplebackpack89 23:37, 26 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Cut and Paste Move

edit
Cut and paste moves are against the Wikipedia policies. I've reverted it all back.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 21:29, 28 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
And I've done it again - please stop - cut and paste moves are not allowed, they have to be reverted back.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 22:17, 28 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Lapithas a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 22:19, 28 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Araklovo & Boutsaras

edit

Hello! Great new articles, congratulations! There is a problem with the image though, since Kontoglou died in 1965, under the life of author +70 years copyright laws, his work is still copyrighted. I have tagged it for deletion at Commons according to policy, but you should be able to re-upload it locally here under a "fair use" tag (e.g. File:Greek Fire mechanism after Haldon and Byrne.jpg). If you need any help, feel free to ask! Best regards, Constantine 16:46, 25 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Olympiacos Zacharos

edit

The article Olympiacos Zacharos has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable amateur club per WP:GNG and WP:FOOTYN.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
