Speedy deletion nomination of Liverpool Dental School

A tag has been placed on Liverpool Dental School requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. Wikipedia articles need to be written by our contributors. Material copied from various sites on the web is almost always copyrighted material which the submitter does not have rights to reproduce. There is a procedure for sending notification (OTRS) of ownership but it is much easier to write a new entry. Rmhermen (talk) 17:02, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

Copyright problem: Liverpool Dental School

This article appears to be a copy from http://www.liv.ac.uk/dental/index.htm, http://www.liv.ac.uk/dental/administration/index.htm and http://www.rlbuht.nhs.uk/about_dental_hospital.asp, and therefore a copyright violation. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Liverpool Dental School

No need to apologise :). What would Wikipedia be without people to create articles?! You'll find the whole process of editing on Wikipedia smoother if you take some time to familiarize yourself with some of the main polices/guidelines. One of these that tends to be strictly enforced refers to the use of copyrighted material. You must be able to show that you are the copyright holder or have explicit permission to use copyrighted material (btw the copyvio notice looks very scary, but you wouldn't be blocked or banned for a copyright violation unless you were repeatedly and knowingly adding such material). I can't delete the article as I'm not an admin :). I'm not even sure that it can be deleted for a week or so. There is a link in the notice to allow you to "write a new article without infringing material". As the creator of the article, you might be able to find a friendly admin who can delete the article earlier (if this is possible - I'm not sure). I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. This has been done under section I5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image which is not under a free license or in the public domain and it has not been used in any article for more than seven days.
