This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of General Rules for the Interpretation of the Harmonized System, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://turkishtariff.com/generalrules.php.

It is possible that the bot was mistaken and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. Speedy deletion nomination of General Rules for the Interpretation of the Harmonized System

edit

Hello Hsmind,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged General Rules for the Interpretation of the Harmonized System for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Blythwood (talk) 20:39, 4 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

  • I see that you have stated that the "General Rules for the Interpretation of the Harmonized System" are "public domain". I have no idea where you get that impression from, but the web page http://turkishtariff.com/generalrules.php certainly indicates otherwise, as it bears the notice "Unauthorized copying or reproducing of the information on this web site is subject to legal provisions. All rights reserved. Turkish Tariff © 2012-2015 info@turkishtariff.com" If you know of any good reason to believe that that copyright claim is false, then you need to provide evidence: otherwise we have to assume it is correct. However, even if the content were public domain, it would be totally unsuitable as a Wikipedia article: we don't host pages giving lists of official regulations. Speedy deletion nomination of General Rules for the Interpretation of the Harmonized System

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on General Rules for the Interpretation of the Harmonized System requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.nigeriatradehub.gov.ng/Portals/0/Documents/guideline/Commodity_Classification_Guidebook%20v1.pdf. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. An attempt at clarification

edit

Since my attempt to explain above doesn't seem to have worked, I will try once more.

  1. As far as I know, you my be right in saying that the "General Rules for the Interpretation of the Harmonized System" are public domain. If so, you need to produce evidence to show that they are: we can't take the word of just anybody who comes along and creates a Wikipedia account, for the simple reason that we very often get people who come along and make false claims about copyright, sometimes dishonestly, and sometimes as a result of good-faith misunderstandings.
  2. Even if they are public domain, they are not the sort of thing we generally have as Wikipedia articles, and if you do produce evidence that they are public domain, while that will prevent speedy deletion as copyright infringement, it will not prevent any editor who thinks they are not suitable as an article to nominate them for a deletion discussion. If that happens, while I can't be certain what the outcome of the discussion will be, I think there is a good chance that it will be deletion. Understood. Thanks for the clarification. --Hsmind (talk) 16:20, 5 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
