June 2019 edit

Hello Howzat out. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat SEO.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Howzat out. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Howzat out|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. GSS (talk|c|em) 12:47, 11 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Not paid for page creations re: Soar (company). Have re-edited to use third-party sources only. Howzat out (talk) 19:38, 24 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Chaos Theorem moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Chaos Theorem, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. August 2019 edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for abusing multiple accounts, and for undisclosed paid editing. Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Yunshui  11:38, 27 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

The reason for creating a new account was because the Howzat_out account is being retired. The secondary account was not an abuse of Wikipedia policy because the intention was to use a new username. Wikipedia states "An account cannot be deleted." on the FAQ page, so I felt the only option was to create a new account. Feel free to keep Howzat out on block, however Osteopathx should be unblocked. Decline reason:

Clear violation of WP:SOCK here. Nor have you addressed your undisclosed paid editing. Yamla (talk) 13:16, 27 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

Thank you Yamla for the prompt reply and insight into Wikipedia's internal guidelines. I'm a bit confused by some of the reasoning because the WP:UPE was clearly added to the article. I see that I only didn't address it on this talk page, but instead on the article itself. I agree that the wording you pointed out was poor word choice and I should have made it much clearer, rather than referring to myself in the third person. Rather than going back and forth through the unblock template, what is the recommend means of resolving this dispute and allowing one of the accounts to exist? Howzat out (talk) 13:49, 27 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Again, you have not addressed your undisclosed paid editing. What type of information do Wikipedia's readers expect? Why does undisclosed paid editing harm Wikipedia and is seen as dishonest? Why is the decision to include a topic not yours to make? MER-C 17:58, 27 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

The paid editing was disclosed on the talk page of the article! The remainder of the questions look to be rhetorical. Based on reasons outlined above can I have this account unbanned? If there is still question over intent, can this ban have a restoration date and/or be considered as "time served"? Howzat out (talk) 19:58, 21 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

That's not how this works. You won't be unblocked at least until you satisfactorily answer the questions posed by MER-C. 331dot (talk) 00:12, 22 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
