Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like it here and decide to stay. You can find lots of information about contributing to Wikipedia at WP:WELCOME.

However, there is a problem with your username, "HookedOnScience". It suggests that you are connected to the program Hooked on Science, which means that you have a conflict of interest with regard to that program and people associated with it. Your new article Jason Lindsey is about a person connected with that program so it is subject to the conflict of interest limitations. Please read the link above about conflict of interest editing to see what you should and should not do at Wikipedia.

There is an even bigger problem with your username. In general you should not have a username that suggests you are part of a particular organization or represent them. See inappropriate usernames. It might be best if you take a new username, one that does not imply that you represent Hooked On Science. As recommended at Wikipedia:Changing username, you can request a change of username, but that is complicated. Or you can simply stop using this username and register a new account under a different name. Just be sure that you stop using this account; using two accounts at once is considered sockpuppetry and can get you blocked.

I know this is confusing. If you have any questions, just ask me. --MelanieN (talk) 23:25, 25 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice. Thank you. Proposed deletion of Jason Lindsey

edit

The article Jason Lindsey has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails the WP:GNG.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
