Speedy deletion for Pelenque

edit

A tag has been placed on Pelenque, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

Article already exists with correct spelling: Palenque

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet very basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. –imaek 20:37, 8 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I put the page up for deletion because you created a parallel article for something that already had a substantial article. Yours was called Pelenque, while the founded one had been spelled Palenque. I had a brain lapse, and, so, instead of just redirecting it, I thought to delete it because it was not a "common misspelling" (which, I guess, it could be). Someone has already corrected my error, as you will see if you click on Pelenque. It's been redirected to the original article, and everything has been corrected. Sorry for the confusion. —imaek 05:13, 9 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Who are the "experts" you say advocate the spelling of "Pelenque"? Wondering, -- Infrogmation 03:16, 11 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I am requesting a citation for the claim in the Yik'in Chan K'awiil that he had only one goal. -- Infrogmation 03:03, 11 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

If you had put Wikipedia:WikiProject Mayan Empire in the correct namespace to begin with, there would have been no need to say "this page is not a Wikipedia article"! -- RHaworth 09:26, 26 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
