Afghanistan National Rugby Team to Compete in Asia Rugby Emirates Sevens Trophy
editFourteen teams from various Asian countries will participate in the Asia Rugby Emirates Sevens Trophy, scheduled for October 4-5, 2024, in Kathmandu, Nepal. Afghanistan has been placed in Group D, alongside Chinese Taipei, India, and Bangladesh.
The Afghanistan national rugby team will face Chinese Taipei in their first match, followed by games against Bangladesh and India. A victory in the first match against Chinese Taipei is seen as crucial for the team's chances of advancing to the semifinals. A loss in the opening game could make it difficult to reach even the quarterfinals.
Despite the challenges Afghanistan faces, there is hope that the national rugby team will emerge as one of the top teams in the tournament.@ Haris-Rahmani (talk) 16:29, 27 September 2024 (UTC)
