I've been wondering: I know Wikipedia doesn't traffic in fringe theories, but if a building is known primarily for its reputed haunting, wouldn't it be inaccurate to leave that information out of the entry? This structure was purchased by paranormal enthusiasts and operates as a ghost tour destination. How do we avoid promulgating fringe theories without misrepresenting something (ostensibly lying by omission)? Hammona (talk) 19:48, 5 November 2018 (UTC)

Hammona, It's fine to discuss haunting in an article, as long as the sources you use to support the assertions about it are reliable. As long as it is possible to find reliable sources that say that the building is known for being haunted, or is a ghost tour destination (such as local newspapers, magazines, etc.), then you can say that in the Wikipedia article. Wikipedia doesn't make assertions about what the Truth with a capital 'T' is, just about what reliable sources say. There is also a difference in asserting something in Wikipedia's voice vs. using reported speech, or a quotation. Mathglot (talk) 10:24, 21 November 2018 (UTC)

I'm not sure why this is plagiarism. I know she went through the archive and used a citation that had been deleted, but she thought it was a good source. (I'm not saying it is, necessarily, but that doesn't constitute plagiarism.)Hammona (talk) 19:44, 5 November 2018 (UTC)

Displaying template names

Hello. I believe that on the talk page User talk:Sansontm, you meant to link to some specific speedy deletion templates instead of leaving the actual notice contents on their page.

When you want to display the name of a template but not have it substitute the actual content, add the prefix tl| at the start, e.g.

{{tl|db-copyvio}}

will render as

{{db-copyvio}}
