Re: IWA

Hello – thanks for the message. The main changes I made in the article were to conform to the Manual of Style. I changed the lists to prose and the headings to level 1 from level 2. I downsized the logo, but when I looked at it just a moment ago it seemed too small, so I made it a bit larger. I also added the stub tag, {{nonprofit-org-stub}}, because editors often look for short articles or stubs to expand in stub categories.

The {{refimprove}} tag alerts others to find verifiable, third-party, reliable sources to... well, provide verification from a reliable third party. :-) It's fine to put the group's official site for the basics, such as membership requirements, but we're also looking for information from newspaper articles about activities, projects with other groups or organizations, and so forth. If there's some criticism of the group, a balanced, neutral section about both sides of the dispute would be helpful. The goal is to have an article with the basics of an encyclopedia entry with the group's official site, external links, and references provided for a curious reader who wishes to investigate further.

The IUCN article needs the same kind of style editing, toward an encyclopedia article and away from a brochure or press release for their organization. Many of the articles on companies and organizations have been written and/or heavily edited by people with conflicts of interest, and after you've been here for a while you'll clearly see the difference. I'm just one girl, though, and I can't fix the whole encyclopedia all by myself, so I do what I can.

Please let me know if you have more questions. For the next few weeks I'll only be here sporadically, so feel free to contact another admin or place the {{helpme}} tag right here on your talk page if I haven't answered your question quickly. Thanks again, and welcome! - KrakatoaKatie 13:53, 25 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
