Hi and thanks for your message on my talk page. You refer to receiving my message about adding promotional content to Idan Cohen, however I left that message on the talk page of User Idancohen. Are you the same editor? That would seem to suggest that you are operating two different user accounts, and may even have created this one so you could edit the article without the appearance of a conflict of interest. If that is the case, you would have breached wikipedia's rules on multiple accounts and could be blocked from editing. Please explain this.
In terms of the promotional content added by that account, I refer to unsourced statements like "graduated with excellency" and "has been successfully creating", which use adjectives that do not conform with wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, as well as the blatantly promotional phrase "Psychological sensibility, a keen sense of musicality, and a profound understanding of the cultural context make Idan Cohen's work a rare combination of analysis and compassion." This kind of content is not what wikipedia is for, and it being added by someone who has a conflict of interest makes it even more problematic. I removed that content from the article so that it currently is neutral, but it still has the problems that much of the content is unsourced, and the issue of conflict of interest, to be resolved. Conflict of interest editing
edit- Hi again, I see from a google search that you also have a clear connection with the topic of this article so I will put the standard conflict of interest warning below, please read this and take time to understand the guidelines linked to. Thanks,
Hello, Hadasantman. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article Idan Cohen, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:
- avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
- instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
- when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Melcous (talk) 08:52, 13 February 2017 (UTC)
Hi. Thanks for your kind answer. I will explain; as the manager of the idan cohen dance company 1)I have created the account of idancohen, but someone told me that there might be conflict of interest so iv opened a new account as my privet one hadasantman in order to edit the idan cohen article with no conflict of interest. What sould i do now with the 2 accounts? should i keep edit as idancohen or as hadasantman? 2) I tried to remove any promotional content, though on the article there are some notes of citation that needs to be add on the biography part. can you please direct me to the kind of citation its referred to? Thanks Hadas Hadasantman (talk) 09:02, 13 February 2017 (UTC)
- Hi Hadas, sorry for the delay in replying. The issue of conflict of interest will remain no matter which account you use, it is not about your username but about whether you have a connection to the subject. So I would suggest you just choose one of the two accounts and only use it. However, you should not directly edit the page but rather make suggestions on the talk page, as recommended above. Also, please do not remove the maintenance templates at the top of the page, particularly the conflict of interest one, it needs to be decided by other neutral editors whether this issue has been resolved. I have still have concerns as to whether the subject of the article is notable, and many of the awards listed have no references to show that they are notable and were awarded. (I will leave this same message on the other account as you have been using it more recently). Thanks, Melcous (talk) 21:44, 14 February 2017 (UTC)
