Orphaned non-free image File:Alianza Logo color.png

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Alianza Logo color.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 03:24, 18 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Reverted your removal of templates on the CounterPath Corporation article

edit

@HKMiller: Hello. I reverted your recent removal of the "primary sources" and "reads like a press release" templates from CounterPath Corporation because you did not make any changes to improve the articles before removing the templates. The article unfortunately still relies too heavily on primary sources. Of the 12 references:

  • 8 are to press releases or the main website (including one I added today about the Alianza acquisition)
  • 1 is to Google Finance
  • 1 is to CrunchBase
  • 1 is to a TMCNet article from 2016

None of those are really strong reliable sources. The article needs to have solid secondary sources before the "primary sources" template can be removed. It also does need to have some of the tone adjusted before the other template should be removed. - Dyork (talk) 19:48, 1 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Potential COI with CounterPath Corporation?

edit

@HKMiller: - Hi again. In looking at your contributions to Wikipedia I see that most all of the articles you have edited seem to be around CounterPath Corporation and associated products and companies. If you are employed by CounterPath (now Alianza) or any of the affiliated companies, please be aware that you are considered to have a conflict of interest with editing the CounterPath article (or related articles). If so, you are asked to please not edit articles about companies with which you are affiliated. You may find the Plain and simple conflict of interest guide useful to understand the Wikipedia thinking on this topic. Essentially, in order to ensure a neutral point of view, Wikipedia asks people associated with an entity to NOT edit pages related to that entity.

If you are associated with CounterPath in some way, you are more than welcome to leave suggestions on the "Talk" page where other editors may then make the change on your behalf. Thank you for understanding. - Dyork (talk) 19:56, 1 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Dyork: - Hi! I'm obviously a bit of a noob at Wikipedia, so I definitely did not mean to violate anything or cause trouble. I will propose updates on the Talk page in the future. could you possibly suggest the best way to go about suggesting a new page be created. I feel Alianza is a company worth being on Wikipedia, and have been approached by companies soliciting the creation of Wikipedia pages on our company's behalf, but I honestly felt it would be better, and more factual, to have it come from someone who actually knows the business. Should I suggest the page and then use the Talk page to help with content? I appreciate your insight!
