RE: Spano edit

[Welcome, btw -- I thought of posting one of those welcome templates but it looks like you know your way around already...]

Thanks for your work on the Spano article. I've been meaning to completely overhaul the references style to get rid of those long strings of footnote links in the text, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. Your c/e's look good to me...

On the quotes from critics, I've gone back & forth. I know there are POV issues, but I thought they demonstrated his notability and gave a bit more flavor of what kind of musician he is; plus his status as a critical darling is, I thought, worth establishing. I orginally had those in the lead, & was told they'd be better in the body somewhere. Maybe later I'll try & work one or two back in mixed in somewhere.

The pic issue is a problem, though you're welcome to search. I had a pic in the infobox that I took from the digital press-kit of Spano's own public-relations firm -- couldn't be a clearer or more problem-free example of fair use -- but it was killed by WP's "non-free content" police. Apparently pictures of living people are only permissable on WP if you snap a candid, or if they sign a license permitting for-profit use and distortion of their image (I put a longer rant on my userpage if you care...).

Thanks again. Ciao, —Turangalila talk 16:04, 16 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
