Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Materialscientist (talk) 06:26, 28 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

You seem to be spending a lot of time working on User:Goudiyasamity/sandbox. As it stands now it will be immediately deleted at publication, or even before. It is blatantly promotional, and not adherering to a neutral point of view, a tenet of Wikipedia as an encyclopedia. Also, why do you have the same account name as the subject? That alone is a conflict oif interest. Better explain before you spend too much more time working on it. -- Alexf(talk) 14:34, 8 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello Alexf, I am trying to explain what you asked, below
1. We are a religious organization established on 1951 in India, we had no wikipedia page since now and we have tried to start a new one for our organization with no prior experience. We assumed that creating the article first in sandbox mode would let us test and see how it is looking like and after finalizing here we would submit it for review. Due to our inexperience in wikipedia content nature, we made mistakes and edited again ti rectify those. Also we tried to convert our text in diacritical format and made some frequent edits to see how the are looking like. But as you notice we were doing all those edits and corrections in sandbox mode, we had no intention of promotion. Our page is neither published nor submitted for review yet, and we thought probably fixing the content multiple times in sandbox is allowed. We understand from your message that our number of edits are too many for your policy and we are very sorry for that. But please be sure this happened due to our inexperience and lack of knowledge in wikipedia editing. We will not make any more frequent edit there for sure. We appeal to consider our mistake as first timers.
2. Regarding the username and article name : The name of our organization is Goudiya Samity. This is a non-profitable organization, with monks dedicated to serve lord almighty and mankind. We have gmail account with this name and we had created the username in wikipedia also with this same name. This would be our only wikipedia article for the organization. As we are not individual and working for our organization, we had created the username in the name of our organization and created the article also as the same. There is no intention to make any conflict of interest. our intention was to keep this generic for our organization. if this makes a policy issue at your side, kindly suggest the steps to take care this. But please understand that we want to create the article on our organization named : Goudiya Samity.
Thank you very much for your earlier review before we posted even and to point out policy issues earlier. We hope you will understand, consider and suggest us in right way.--Goudiyasamity (talk) 09:43, 9 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Explanation of our point and situation to Alexf

Hello Alexf, I am trying to explain what you asked, below. Posted in in 2 places as I was unsure what would be exact place to answer this.

You just indicated you are in violation of Wikipedia's policies. We have to follow the rules, all of us. Organizations cannot have accounts. Only individuals. Advertising or promoting is not allowed, not to mention violation of conflicts of inmterest rules and failure to abide by the mandatory paid-contribution disclosure rules -- Alexf(talk) 10:31, 9 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing. Additionally, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for your contributions to Wikipedia, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

If you intend to make useful contributions other than promoting your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block. To do so, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason for thinking that the block was an error, and publish the page. Speedy deletion nomination of User:Goudiyasamity/sandbox

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User:Goudiyasamity/sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Alexf(talk) 10:32, 9 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

 User:Goudiyasamity/sandbox has been deleted
Hello, Goudiyasamity. Thank you for helping to build Wikipedia-- the world's largest free content encyclopedia. I'm sorry, but  User:Goudiyasamity/sandbox has been deleted as meeting WP:CSD#G11. "This applies to pages that are exclusively promotional and would need to be fundamentally rewritten to conform with Wikipedia:NOTFORPROMOTION." These must be rewritten from scratch from "reliable, third party sources unconnected to the subject." See WP:RS.

Wikipedia:Identifying blatant advertising#Typical signs of blatant advertising contains information about content to avoid. For more information on content that may be perceived as promotional, click User:Deepfriedokra/promo. These are just rough guides. Pages can avoid all those pitfalls and still be glaringly obvious ad copy. Sometimes pages meeting WP:CSD#G11 give the appearance of an editor violating Wikipedia:Conflict of interest or WP:PAID. Please read and heed them if they apply to you. Please read Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations.

There is a very common mistake of assuming that the prohibition against promotional editing applies only to promotion for commercial gain, but that is not so. Sometimes creators of promotional content are bewildered that it is considered such. If one has been trained to write or spent some time writing corporate documents or mission/vision statements or anything similar, they may simply be blind to the promotionality. It can be hard to unlearn.

Wikipedia is an encyclopedia-- subjects must meet notability guidelines with reliable sources that are unconnected with the subject and providing verifiable information. That generally means someone unconnected with the subject needs to have written a great deal about the subject. Please see Wikipedia:Citing sources . Template:cite has templates you can use in citing your sources. Place the template {{references}} at the bottom of the page, and references cited in the text will appear there.

The new user tutorial can help you avoid future problems. --Deep fried okra (schalte ein) 18:36, 10 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
