I don't know the procedure for changing current articles. I tried to change the current article Château d'Angers and ended up with User:GoldenEagle13/sandbox. I don't know how the checking business works. Should I post it and assume if I made a mistake it will be fixed there? Or do I get it checked somewhere else?—Preceding unsigned comment added by GoldenEagle13 (talkcontribs) 02:30, 10 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Welcome!

Hello, GoldenEagle13, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, please see our help pages, and if you can't find what you are looking for there, please feel free to leave me a message or place "{{helpme}}" on your talk page and someone will drop by to help. I hope this 'Welcome' & its links will be useful. Am taking a look at tour edits and seeing if we can get this all sorted out. Shearonink (talk) 02:36, 10 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Also, please remember to sign all your talk-page posts, either here or on other talk-pages, with four of these things ~ called 'tildes', it's right up there at the top of your keyboard to the left of the #1/! key. Shearonink (talk) 02:40, 10 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hello Shearonink, I really appreciate you spending your time to help me. I'll remember to do those tildes! Thanks again, GoldenEagle13 (talk) 02:42, 10 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

What were you trying to fix on the Chateau article? I see that you did an edit fixing an invalid link at 22:57, 9 March 2011...is there something else you were trying to fix? Shearonink (talk) 02:48, 10 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
Ok, I took a look at User:GoldenEagle13/sandbox. WIkipedia edits, when they are done on an article, go 'live' immediately. That being said, when you add information or change information, those edits really need to be referenced from reliable sources. Since you seem to be a new user, you might want to take a look at Wikipedia editing tutorial. If you have questions about editing Wikipedia, sign on to the IRC Wikipedia Help Channel and talk to us. Hope this helps, Shearonink (talk) 02:58, 10 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

I didn't change the actual article yet in fear of ruining it. My edits can be found at my personal sandbox page User:GoldenEagle13/sandbox GoldenEagle13 (talk) 02:55, 10 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

So, you copied over the article and then worked on it in your user-space? Ok... well, the main thing is that you have to get your changes sourced. Wikipedia is not a place for opinions or to write essays, it's a neutral encyclopedia with verifiable statements from reliable sources. I'll take a look at your edits and see if they're seem ok. GoldenEagle13, I think the ways you've adjusted the layout is a big improvement. Do you know how to cut&paste your sandbox content and save it over the present Chateau article? If not, click on this link -->> for the IRC Wikipedia Help Channel and talk to the volunteer helpers there. And remember, in Wikipedia, there is no deadline. Thanks so much, Shearonink. I really appreciate your feedback and the welcome. Thanks, GoldenEagle13 (talk) 03:26, 10 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Bunisours edit

Please refrain from introducing inappropriate pages, such as Bunisours, to Wikipedia. Doing so is not in accordance with our policies. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
