Feedback Welcome edit

I am in the process of conducting research on the medical information on Wikipedia. I always strive to conduct my research in a way that respects Wikipedia and the people who contribute to it. I always welcome any feedback about how I might improve my methods of contacting people on Wikipedia. Feel free to post any comments or questions here, or I also respond to email if you'd like a more confidential exchange (gerald.kane@bc.edu)

WAS 4.250 edit

Hi.

You contacted me on my talk page. I don't use email. I only communicate in public; no private messaging. I'm willing to answer what I can say in public. I'll copy your questions below and say what I can. WAS 4.250 (talk) 09:13, 3 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your response. I have copied and deleted from this page, as to not bias future respondents. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions. geraldckane (talk) 02:08, 5 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yes, just followed up by email as well (been travelling, a bit behind) Thanks for your response! geraldckane (talk) 15:23, 13 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi Gerald, glad to have given at least a little help on the Doctors' Mess page. Boud (talk) 20:44, 21 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

BTW, in principle, i'm very interested in wiki research and have a huge number of research ideas ;). But for the moment i have other research projects which are extremely interesting, so wiki research may have to wait for a while. Boud (talk) 20:46, 21 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

MIS Quarterly - curious edit

i'm a bit curious about "(the top IS academic Journal, with the highest impact factor among all management journals)" - maybe management culture doesn't really count as science, since the goal of maximising profits doesn't fully overlap with the open culture present in many fields of fundamental science, but in any case, i've updated Management Information Systems Quarterly based on a check of the Science Citation Index and also the Polish Science Ministry list of rated journals. Boud (talk) 20:44, 21 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

hi Gerald, in order to keep the discussion all in one place, i suggest we keep our main discussion on this point at Talk:Management_Information_Systems_Quarterly. You're still welcome to put a message on my talk page in order to ping me when there's something new, however. :) IMHO this seems like a sensible way to manage this information. Hey User: Geraldckane, Um... I saw your reply. I'm wondering if I could help you with your project. I can help you understand some of the medical articles on here, and perhaps answer some of your questions. I know mostly about, more specifically, disabilities (e.g., autistic spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, developmental disabilities, etc.). You could respond to me on my talk page for the survey whenever you like. Thanx again, for considering me to help.

Your research project edit

Gerald,

My apologies. I was inactive on wikipedia for a while, and I didn't notice your message about the research study. Are you still working on it? I'm happy to help out.

I know one of your colleagues at Boston College, in the Dept of Higher Education, Philip Altbach. I've talked to him about my wikipedia editing hobby. Say hello if you know him.
