Welcome! edit

Hi, Georgedunn, Welcome to Wikipedia!

Welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you enjoy the encyclopaedia and want to stay. Before getting too in-depth, you may want to read about the simplified ruleset. If you need help on how to title new articles check out the naming conventions, and for help on formatting the pages visit the manual of style. If you need help look at Wikipedia:Help and the FAQ; plus, if you can't find your answer there, check the Village Pump (for Wikipedia related questions) or the Reference Desk (for general questions). There's still more help at the Tutorial and Policy Library. Also, don't forget to visit the Community Portal. And if you have any more questions after that, feel free to post them on my user talk page.

Additional tips edit

Here are some extra tips to help you get around in Wikipedia:

  • If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills the Sandbox is for you.
  • You can sign your name using three tildes (~). If you use four, you can add a datestamp too.
  • You may want to add yourself to the new user log.
  • If you ever think a page or image should be deleted, please list it at the votes for deletion page. There is also a votes for undeletion page if you want to retrieve something that you think should not have been deleted.
  • If you're still entirely confused, or would like to get a better grasp of your wikipedia skills, and you have an IRC client (or don't mind getting one), check out the Bootcamp. It's not what it sounds like, but it is fun and can help you with your editing skills.

Improving CFS/ME Article edit

Hi, I've noticed you used to contribute to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I recently nominated it as the Wikipedia:Improvement Drive. I feel that it needs urgent improvement, and if you agree please vote at the Improvement Drive project page. Thanks! Thedreamdied 02:21, 3 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ampligen reply edit

I think that Ampligen and HEB have had a long and troubled history, and the fault does appear to reside largely with HEB. Even so, Ampligen HAS been shown to be effective to a certain degree in some patients with CFS. And I'm very sorry you've had CFS/ME for so long, I know that it can't be any fun. And the reason it has "not been realised here" is because Wikipedia does not support biased points of view - editors have to weigh up the evidence and produce a balanced article. I'll post this conversation to your talk page as well in case you return to Wikipedia and forget that you put this here. Thedreamdied 19:12, 24 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ampligen edit

George, I reverted your edit not because I think the material was necessarily wrong, but because it is stated as an editorial opinion, has no sources, some of it should be under criticism or in other sections. In Wikipedia, material has to come from reliable sources and should be presented factually and neutrally so that the reader can come to their own opinions about a subject. Wikipedia articles do not tell people how to think about the subjects. It is difficult to find and write the information so that a realistic picture of all points of view of the subject are presented fairly. I understand the frustration you must feel, but this article can be developed to show fairly all the mainstream points of view about Ampligen. But it will take time and collaborative effort to do it, so please take some time to know Wikipedia to help work within the process. Thank You. Ward20 (talk) 04:54, 28 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
