File:Jess Glynne - This Christmas.png

I remember you mentioning however long ago (a year? Two years?) that you did not think this cover ought to be included, but doing nothing about it at the time. I find it very odd that you've come back around to this, or perhaps not even forgotten about it. Who even thinks about this song outside of Christmas season? Regardless, I'm not surprised, because all you seem to do is nominate countless files for deletion. It's your focus, so it's expected at this point. That being said, George, you know better than to complain at FfD of all places that we should not have a section for Glynne's cover of the song. That's beyond the scope of FfD and not what it's for. Cover artworks are also not uploaded to establish notability. They are solely to identify the work in question. Nowhere on WP:NFCC does it say the word "notability". I don't know if you're using the wrong word or what. Also, Glynne's cover is the most successful version of the song in the UK by far, and the highest peak any version of the song has achieved on a national singles (read: non-radio) chart that I can tell. It absolutely should have its own subsection. Are you in a war against subsections for covers of songs? That I don't get. Ss112 10:16, 8 October 2021 (UTC)

A cover art of Collette's take on "Ring My Bell" was deleted per other FFD discussion. I'll provide the link if necessary. Meanwhile, let's discuss the image I nominated for deletion at the other venue, shan't we? --George Ho (talk) 11:16, 8 October 2021 (UTC)

Lots of images

Good day, George. I've noticed that you seem to be the prime contributor who PRODs and FFDs music-related files, and I just wanted to let you know about something I've seen for the past few months. I've been going through a lot of mid-2000s song articles citing release dates, and while I did, I've noticed that a lot of these articles have multiple images that may or may not violate NFCCP#3 and/or NFCCP#8. It seems to occur most frequently with songs from British and indie rock musicians. Examples includes Switch It On, Ultraviolet/The Ballad of Paul K, Fill My Little World, Sofa Song, and Questions and Answers (Biffy Clyro song), among many others. Most of these images beef up the infobox and can be quite distracting. If it's not too much trouble, I'd like you to take a look at the British indie rock/mid-2000s range and clear out any failed inclusions you can, especially articles about McFly. Thanks for your consideration. ResPM (T🔈 🎵C) 12:31, 20 October 2021 (UTC)

Files for discussion

Many thanks for your help, George – I tried following the FfD instructions and got completely lost trying to transcribe them to Commons, so thank you for fixing the nominations for me. Edit: would it be possible for you to alter the notifications at the uploader's talk page so that they link correctly to the Commons discussion and not to FfD, please? Richard3120 (talk) 00:54, 29 October 2021 (UTC)

Umm... Not necessary. The uploader was already notified at c:User talk:Ryandasissoto. --George Ho (talk) 00:59, 29 October 2021 (UTC)

Help

Thank you much for the help with the File:Helmut Missner.jpeg Helmut Missner]] file. Most people just slap a template on and move on, but you took time: your expertise and helpfulness there is to be commended. I have another issue that may be solved quickly with your knowledge so I hope you can help. I have uploaded a clearer version of a file, but I do not know how to make that version primary. File:Willie H. Fuller photo.jpeg Willie Fuller]]. The original is so hard to see so I tried adjusting the contrast. You will see how many times I tried and failed. lol. Let me know if you can help, if not we will suffer with the lesser photo. Lightburst (talk) 17:12, 31 October 2021 (UTC)

@Lightburst: You may wanna request improvement at WP:GL/P about the file. How's that? George Ho (talk) 19:21, 31 October 2021 (UTC)

Thanks, I am going to have to go off the project now. Thank you much for your help on Missner. I learned a few things there. Lightburst (talk) 19:30, 31 October 2021 (UTC)
