Speedy deletion nomination of Geek Shui Living

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Geek Shui Living requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Alexf(talk) 16:17, 22 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

The article was reviewed, based on the message displayed pursuant to editing. DB type was set to "Web", as suggested. Additionally, references and links regarding information which could be construed as product/sales oriented were removed. The sample used for this article was based on the previously approved and current article for ReadWriteWeb, so I am confident it meets the minimum requirements for a Wikipedia article. If there are any specific suggestions or requirements regarding how it may be improved and/or made to fit better within Wikipedia's guidelines, please let me know, so that I may effect the changes. Thank you GeekShui (talk) 19:21, 22 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Geek Shui Living

edit

The article Geek Shui Living has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No sources about the subject to indicate notability. Note that the citations below do not source the text.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. lifebaka++ 01:03, 24 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Second Revision to Further Improve Article and Prevent Deletion

External references were updated to better reflect the growing respectability of the subject, as a reliable source for information and referencing purposes. Statistical data was also included to provide evidence of rapidly increasing notoriety. Since the subject of the article is still relatively new, in terms of technology news websites, it will continue to evolve. As such, additional references and sources will be added as they are published and become available. Thank you for your assistance. GeekShui (talk) 15:46, 28 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the username you have chosen (GeekShui) seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of a group, company or website.

There are two issues with this:

  1. It is possible that you have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, you must exercise great caution when editing on topics related to your organization.
  2. Your account cannot represent a group of people. You may wish to create a new account with a username that represents only you. Alternatively, you may consider changing your username to avoid giving the impression that your personal account is being used for promotional purposes.

Regardless of whether you change your name or create a new account, you are not exempted from the guidelines concerning editing where you have a conflict of interest. For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. The article in question is Geek Shui Living. Thank you.
