Welcome to wikipedia but please bear in mind that "Eire" is not the name of the State in English. Regards. Djegan 12:17, 10 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Maybe you have not noticed but the "Irish Republic" has not existed for decades, the 1920s; the Six Counties is a pov term and theirfore not allowed; and their is no "Ministry of Transport", that is a British invention. Get you terminology right, viz WP:IMOS. Djegan 13:19, 10 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Duplicate images uploaded edit

Thanks for uploading Image:S Partick Mosaic.JPG. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:S Patrick Mosaic 2.JPG. The copy called Image:S Patrick Mosaic 2.JPG has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and remember exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 16:32, 13 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use disputed for Image:Rff.gif edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Rff.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:54, 16 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Lighthouse Mountains edit

Hi Gav, I see you are adding the mountain infobox to lighthouse articles (as is User:Jeanne dArc) - I'm not sure that works well. Click on "listing" in the box and it brings up mountain articles. You should check see if there is a specific "lighthouse" template. Regards (Sarah777 23:59, 6 October 2007 (UTC))Reply

Pointing and Boxing edit

We may not agree on photo selection or your use of "Mountain Boxes" but you are doing great work on pointing and coords and village infoboxes! (Sarah777 18:24, 13 October 2007 (UTC))Reply

Bad Redirect - Fore edit

Gav, please note that you cannot simply redirect one article to another; you must (1) have a good reason for doing so; as I had SEPARATED the two (in the process of improving both) you needed to give a reason for reversing that action. (2) You lost the entire content of the Fore Village article; IF it is agreed to re-merge them than the text on the modern village, sports etc needs to be intigrated into the merged article. (3) IF we decide to re-merge that decision of which name, the village or the abbey must then be agreed. (Sarah777 11:28, 21 October 2007 (UTC))Reply

Hello Sarah,

YOU have literally copied my text from Fore Abbey to Fore County Westmeath, which is in any case, is one of the same. Take it from a local.

Best regards,

Gav (as you call me). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gavigan 01 (talkcontribs) 11:33, 21 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Dear Gav01 (will there be more?!) I did indeed copy your excellent text when I separated the article. Exactly to avoid what you did - lose text. The reason that I separated them was so that each could grow in their separate space; as happened with the sporting links; your move lost that! But being local I will defer to you on this (even if not on photography matters!) - just make sure to merge any Fore Village info that isn't in the Abbey page (nearly all of it) before redirecting.

ps I call you Gav because it sounds less formal than Gavigan; but I will call you Mr Gavigan if it offends you. (Sarah777 11:54, 21 October 2007 (UTC))Reply

Midland Railway Action Group edit

Hi! You are the one who started the article on Midland Railway Action Group. Are you connected with them in some way? In seems that the group is not at all represented online (no official site, and no publicly available contacts, only mentionings in the news). Is there any contact to be used if I e.g. want to ask a question? Thanks, AntonBryl (talk) 17:33, 11 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Midland Railway Action Group edit

The article Midland Railway Action Group has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication that subject meets WP:NORG or WP:GNG (a Google search returns just 400 results - mainly this article and its mirrors). There are no substantive news, academic or other results. The content is also, IMO, all but irrecoverable. As it is a soapboxing essay which contains little other than original research and which isn't supported by the links offered as references. Few to none of which actually mention the titular subject/org...

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist.
