KB vs. kB
In all IT literature that I see, KB is the term for KiloByte. What is the basis of your changes? I understnd Wiki is supposed to reflect 'what is', not 'what should be' in this world. Thanks Hmains 18:03, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
- In proper literature (and there is some out there), they will use the proper prefix of lowercase 'k'. It is incorrect to use uppercase 'K', as this stands for Kelvin. And all of this is as per SI. Therefore, while using 'kB' to mean "1024 bytes" is wrong, 'KB' is even more wrong, as it technically means "Kelvin bytes". —Gordon P. Hemsley→✉ 15:36, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
Beatles songs

Yes, I realize that those songs are not Beatles songs, but the category text reads:
"This category is for stub articles relating to songs by The Beatles and any of the four members individually. You can help Wikipedia by expanding them." (Emphasis added by me.)
The scope includes those songs. Crystallina 19:19, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

Hi mate. Thanks for joining the Beatles WikiProject and for the work you've done so far. Could I ask you to hold fire on restubbing Beatles solo songs for a moment? I think we'd agreed as a project that we'd stub solo songs in that category too; but obviously I should have maodified the template wording rather than just the instructions! I'm just going to backtrack on what was said and if necessary leave a few messages for other people; I'm not complaining I just want you to hold fire so there's less mess to clean up if that's what we've decided. - You're a project member now so you get to decide how we do things just the same as the rest of us :-) Would you approve of me changing the wording of the stub template to make it clear that the solo Beatles songs should be stubbed with it too? I take it you destubbed because the template quite clearly says "Beatles", not that you have any philosophical objections to using the same template on Beatles and solo Beatles' songs? :) Comments and replies to --> Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_The_Beatles#Song_Stubs.
- Since you're on board now and have already found two song articles to merge, I think you'd be interested in and would be a great help towards our article classification drive, where we work through a list of Beatles related articles and for each article classify it, log it on the todo list if it needs specific work, and apply a couple of tweaks while we are there. We still have a few to classify in our first batch (see Wikipedia:WikiProject The Beatles/Article Classification) and user:Lar will be getting the next batch ready soon - including the articles on songs. --kingboyk 22:09, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

Categories
Hi.... Every other page in Category:1989 births is an article. You probably should not put your user page in that category. What you probably want is a subcategory of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Wikipedians (perhaps Wikipedians by birth year and then wikipedians born in 1989) I have removed you from that category. Stubs
While there is no mandated place for stubs, the reasons for putting stub tags at the end are twofold:
- They are editor information (and a form of sef-reference) not content (or reader information), and therefore logically belong at the end.
- In the category listing we want the stub category to be the last category, not the first (Categories: Northwestern Russia geography stubs | Cities and towns in Vologda Oblast).
