editHello, I'm Tacyarg. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Bob Hattaway have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Tacyarg (talk) 17:24, 21 February 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for your feedback. That is an objective article, written by a professional writer. There is NO advertising in the article, only a description of what did. He was at one time a business owner but no longer owns businesses. With these clarifications in mind, please allow the posting. 209.16.115.5 (talk) 17:28, 21 February 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, thank you for your reply. Please remember to log in. Every statement on Wikipedia should be neutral and referenced to reliable sources, particularly when writing about living people. Your addition had no references and included text such as "his focus, drive and determination", which is not neutral in tone. I also wondered whether the article was copied from somewhere, as it included a byline. I will post a welcome below with some links that should help you in adding citations. I will also post about conflict of interest, as it looks as if you know, work for or represent Hattaway. Tacyarg (talk) 18:48, 21 February 2024 (UTC)

- Do not use talk pages as discussion or forum pages as Wikipedia is not a forum.
The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Managing a conflict of interest
editHello, Fwmartz. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Bob Hattaway, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Tacyarg (talk) 18:49, 21 February 2024 (UTC)
