Structure drawing

Hi! Sorry for bothering you. I need some help with uploaded structures :(

What is the problem: when I draw anything in MarvinSketch and then crop with Inkscape (as in Manual), one functional group becomes bold. Like this →

In original file it's ok, but not in smaller scale. I tried to reupload few times, but it isn't help much. I don't know, where is the problem... Maybe you have heard something about it? Thanks. --Олег.Н (talk) 11:56, 20 July 2015 (UTC)

It's no trouble, for me to help you it's just I'm not 100% sure as to what you mean. Do you mean the letter 'O' is capitalized in your vinyl acetate molecule and this bolding occurs when you edit it in Inkscape? Which version of MarvinSketch & Inkscape are you using, btw? Yeah, right that. This happens only when I upload on Commons: while drawing in MS and editing in Inkscape everything is going fine, but when I upload... Ah, well it seems for whatever reason the SVG you were using had this in its XML code:

on the 3rd and 5th line of this you will notice that the font-weight is set to "bold". So what I did was I removed the "font-weight:bold" and "font-weight=bold" pieces of code and re-uploaded it to Commons for ya. As for how these problematic pieces of code found their way into your SVG I honestly do not know. But it may be worthwhile checking whether the same issue arises with a later version of MarvinSketch (15.7.13 is currently the latest, you can download it here). Great job in 2014 of creating that comparison table at Analgesic#Comparison_of_available_agents. This comparison table is a great model for discussing how drugs can be presented on Wikipedia. Are you aware of the existence of any similar drug comparison table? I do not recall ever seeing anything like this elsewhere. Climate

There is no officially established position for the climate section or any others really in Australian place articles. But there are a couple of things to be aware of. First is not to put something in a subsection unless it is blindingly obvious that it belongs in that section. Mobile users are presented with only a top level table of contents. So if they don't see Climate listed, they may assume it's not there, particularly as it is top-level section in many other articles. The other thing is level of detail and style of presentation. Generally we tend to favour putting more general prose ahead of very detailed facts, especially when presented as long lists, tables etc, (bit boring to read) and climate sections often have a big table. Also if there is an long infobox present, there often isn't the screen width available to display the wide climate table until later in the article. So for all of those reasons, I would generally put a climate section as a top-level section towards the end of article. I hope this answers your question in your edit summary. @Kerry Raymond: Thanks for the reply, I'm just not sure what you're replying to, specifically. I've edited the climate section of quite a few articles, and made quite a few edit summaries, so I'm not exactly sure which question this is in reply to. I know you thanked me for my edit to the Herberton article's climate section, but as I didn't ask a question there in my edit summary I'm guessing this isn't related. Most articles I've come across on Australian places list climate as a second level heading, under geography. It's pretty rare to see it as a separate top-level section. Oops, I found what you were replying to, my edit summary at Tamborine Mountain. The only times I've seen climate listed as a top-level section have been in small articles that pertain to very small towns like those of Forrest, Western Australia, Liawenee, Tasmania, and Stirling, South Australia. Sorry, I mistook your edit summary for a genuine question. I mainly edit Queensland content (and therefore read Queensland content) so my answer related to my experience with Queensland place articles, where it's mostly a top-level topic. The problem we have is that most active contributors to Wikipedia use a desktop/laptop computerand they see the article in that mode. However, the majority of Wikipedia readers are on a mobile device and see it in mobile mode (a different rendering), so those of us who are active contributors need to think about how things look to the mobile reader. I spent some months overseas with just a phone and I learned a lot about what works for the mobile reader and what doesn't. It taught me that a subsection must be blindingly obvious as being contained in another topic. I now contribute with a much flatter structure to articles as a result. I don't see the point of writing content that over half our readers might not find. Kerry (talk) 22:46, 21 January 2020 (UTC)

No, it was a genuine question, I've just asked so many without a reply that I was surprised when you answered. Thanks for your insight, although even for major Queensland cities climate is usually listed under geography, like for Brisbane, Cairns, Mackay, Rockhampton, Toowoomba and Townsville. Only exceptions to this general rule I've found have been for the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast. Although, of course the definition of major city is debatable, like Bundaberg and Mount Isa do not strike me as particularly major, given their relatively low population, but their articles also list climate separately. I've noticed that you're currently correcting postgraduate figures in articles about Australian universities, which is awesome, but I would like your thoughts on whether it may make the numbers more immediately readable to format them as as:

Instead of:

My concern is that the infobox might become too wordy.
