Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, FrankieWard. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Frances Ward (priest), you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Gaia Octavia Agrippa Talk 18:03, 24 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your edits, but they cannot be accepted for the above reasons. You can help keep the article about you updated by ensuring the sources are updated (eg Who's Who and Crockford's Clerical Directory). If something is incorrect or slanderous, please do feel free to delete it, and note in the edit summary why. Thank you, Gaia Octavia Agrippa Talk 18:11, 24 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
Please stop editing Frances Ward (priest). It is clear that you have a conflict of interest and you have been asked not to twice already. Your additions have been removed. There are clear rules about editing Wikipedia, and editing an article about yourself or your business/band/bouncy castle brand is almost always not allowed. If you would like to know more, please read Wikipedia:Autobiography. Otherwise, you could help your article expand by putting information elsewhere: I have already mentioned Who's Who and Crockford's, you might also be interested in starting a blog or something similar if such details that you added are particularly important. You can comment here as much as you like, and I am happy to explain things further to you. However, if you continue to edit you article, you may be blocked from editing.
