Copyedit of Gaurav Raja

edit

This article isn't nearly as bad as some I've put copyedit tags on. Some problems with it:

  • It reads a bit like a news report, rather than an encyclopedia article.
  • All the sentences are quite long, and read like a list of facts rather than paragraphing. (The sentences are sufficiently long that it looks like full stops are missing, but they're just spaced well apart.)
  • There are a couple of minor spelling and punctuation problems.
  • One of the external links is messed up (because only webpages can be linked to, not Javascript code).

I'll copy this to the article's talk page. --ais523 14:22, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

I've corrected one problem you missed, and then taken the tag off. The tag isn't a big deal really; it's just there to attract the attention of other editors and help to improve the article more quickly. --ais523 14:33, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

Sign your posts on talk pages

edit

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --ais523 14:22, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

User page

edit

You might want to think about writing something on your user page (even just a sentence or two like "I'm from [wherever] and am interested in [whatever]"), so that people can see that you're a "real person". Not that I don't think you are, it's just that sometimes in AfDs and places like that, a red-linked user is a bit of a warning sign.

Also, and this is far from a warning, just bear in mind for future reference that "closing an AfD" means stopping the debate and either deleting or keeping the article in question - all of which can usually only be done by an admin. Removing an AfD template on an article generally gets looked at as being a bad-faith edit, although in this case you were documenting what you were doing elsewhere so we know what the real story is.

Aside from that, hope you have fun contributing. BigHaz 03:57, 1 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please

edit

I've been blocked for a long time even thought they said it would only be 24-48 hours.

The helpme system is for editing help, for unblock requests you need the {{unblock}} template. --pgk 20:58, 20 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
