License tagging for Image:Hpfz2.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Hpfz2.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Vandalism

edit

Please refrain from adding nonsense to Wikipedia, as you did to Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (film). It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. ForestH2 t/c 12:58, 23 August 2006 (UTC) - And can I ask what "nonsense" I apparantly added? - FF.Reply

Hi! Another Wikipedian from the ACT checking in. :) Basically, I think the above is an example of test template misuse. Generally, people move up from {{test0}} to {{test5}} or {{test6}} without skipping any; in this case, you were given the test2 warning without first having received any others.
Anyway, this edit might explain what ForestH2 was talking about. Your edit introduced a minor typo and changed one link to another, which will normally be construed as adding nonsense or linkspam to the article (even when it isn't, because it's sometimes hard to tell the difference). In general, I just suggest you propose changes like the one you did on the Talk page before making them, or else add your link without replacing the original. Good luck, and happy editing in the future. :) Daveydweeb (chat/patch) 21:08, 5 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the comments - most appreciated! The link change was merely changing a source that was carrying the article, to reflect the original source - which I believe is encouraged. However, perhaps I will propose or notify such changes in the talk pages :) - FF

Redirect

edit

Great but you need to tell me what to redirect it to. :) I'd rather redirect it myself and then unprotect it. --Woohookitty(meow) 00:57, 23 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

- Could you please redirect to WHBF-TV. Thanks!
Done. --Woohookitty(meow) 03:21, 23 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia!

Hey, dont let a few things get you down. Its tough to get to know the rules... thats why we encourage people to be bold! in editing. If the rules make you feel nervous and not like editing wikipedia, ignore them. The rules will still be around after you get familiar with wikipedia, so dont let them get you down at first. BTW, are you an Australian? You may want to get to know some people and get advice at the Australian Wikipedians' notice board. Have fun and don't be afraid to ask for advice when you need it. Orphaned fair use image (Image:3cec6c60.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:3cec6c60.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. AfD nomination of Harry Potter Fan Zone

edit

I have nominated Harry Potter Fan Zone, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Harry Potter Fan Zone. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice?  Asenine  11:33, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
