hello im felisberto from netherlands studing management.im a reader of wikipedia later i will try to be active contributor.

Welcome to Wikipedia! edit

Dear Felisberto~enwiki: Welcome to Wikipedia, a free and open-content encyclopedia. I hope you enjoy contributing. To help get you settled in, I thought you might find the following pages useful:

Don't worry too much about being perfect. Very few of us are! Just in case you are not perfect, click here to see how you can avoid making common mistakes.

If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.

Wikipedians try to follow a strict policy of never biting new users. If you are unsure of how to do something, you are welcome to ask a more experienced user such as an administrator. One last bit of advice: please sign any dicussion comment with four tildes (~~~~). The software will automatically convert this into your signature which can be altered in the "Preferences" tab at the top of the screen. I hope I have not overwhelmed you with information. If you need any help just let me know. Once again welcome to Wikipedia, and don't forget to tell us about yourself and be BOLD!

Okay, first things first: If you're going to be an active contributor to Wikipedia, you have to use proper capitalization, spaces, and punctuation. I also recommend making a userpage (even though mine is still under construction). Everyone is nice, they won't bite your head off if you ask a simple question. One last thing, please don't vandalize. Go to http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Todd_Bertuzzi&diff=prev&oldid=40088399 and look at the green on the right for an example of vandalism. Vandalism is also putting false information on the site, uploading unneccesary images, etc. Vandalism doesn't have to be that severe.

Also, please don't create pages to promote yourself. These are considered vanity pages by Wikipedians and are disliked and will be speedily deleted. Avoid creating articles that discuss tiny things that only a few people know about.

Again, welcome, and I hope that we can be friends and that you enjoy the Wikipedia community. If you have any other questions, you can post them at my talk page where I will hopefully answer them.

Be bold!

Response to comment on March 21 edit

Firstly, it's called a user page, not a user box. Userboxes are things that you put on your userpage. An example of a userbox is at the bottom of this comment.

Secondly, to edit your own talk page, do the same thing that you did to my Talk Page. Last thing: When editing Talk Pages don't press edit this page; instead press the + sign. This lets you post a new comment instead of adding to a prev. comment.

Hope this has helped you!

April 2006 edit

In response to your comments on my Talk Page:

Those boxes are not called "userboxes". They are called... well, actually, I have no idea what they are called. However, you can insert them by typing strange codes which are too advanced for you at the moment.

Use proper spelling and grammar. Very self-explanatory. If I don't see you doing that, I may have to monitor your edits and correct them.

Please "invisify" the comments you put on my talk page. If you do not, you will get invisible spam on your user and/or talk pages. Invisify pages by putting <!-- before and --> after your comment.

Other than that, no other things. Have fun! Freddie 01:18, 21 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Re: worry about you edit

Why do you worry about me when you waste your time finding silly-looking userboxes to plaster all over your userpage? I'm perfectly happy. Alphax τεχ 03:11, 23 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Re:hi. would you teach me? edit

You can edit pages by clicking on the "edit this page" tab. It is usually the third from the left. On User talk pages, there is a "+" tab next to it which automatically starts a new section. This is the same way talk pages are edited.

Some pages (such as the main page) cannot be edited because they are protected from vandalism. This is not your fault, but rather a measure used to prevent other people from disrupting the encyclopedia.

There are basically no boundaries on the topic of the article you can edit. If you have information, feel free to add it. Just make sure that your additions are verifiable, have acceptable copyright status, are in a neutral point of view, and conform to all other policies and guidelines.

One way to find an article to edit is to use the "search" box. In most cases, it should be on the left and between the "tools" and "navigation" boxes. Another way is to use the "random page" link.

Does this answer your question? If you need more assistance feel free to ask me. Miss Madeline | Talk to Madeline 22:58, 4 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Creating Pages edit

You can create a new page by going to Help:Starting a new page. Instructions for creating a page are there.

At Help:Creating a page, you should see a text box. Below it, there should be a centered button that says "Create Page".

As an alternative, you can create a new page by clicking on a broken link. Ordinarily, clicking on a link will bring you to another page or article. If the link is broken, you will see an edit box. After typing in the text for the page and saving, the page is now created.

Broken links should either be red or with an underlined question mark after them. By default, they should be red. You can change how broken links look like by going your preferences page, clicking on the "misc" tab and clicking the checkbox next to the appropriate option.

A good place to find redlinks is to go to Reguested Articles.

Finally, you must be logged in to create a page.

Just make sure that when you create a page, it is encyclopedic in content and follows the same policies I outlined above. In other words, NEVER EVER create hoax, attack, or copyright violation pages. ALWAYS stick to encyclopedic content, things that are verifiable and that conform to policies and guidelines. Miss Madeline | Talk to Madeline 21:06, 5 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

The help namespace has much information that you may find useful. Miss Madeline | Talk to Madeline 22:13, 5 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

look! edit

here is the web page for all the pre-made wikiboxes: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Userboxes Welcome! I was looking at your user page, andI am relieved that there are actually some nice people in Europe. So, your Dutch? So am I ! my great grandmother and granfather are from there. I am 5/8 german, 1/8 Dutch, and 1/8 Cherokee. I do disagree with the EU spreading to Cananda- I think the US should annex it! Lets talk sometime- How old are you. by the way? User:Valento

hi again edit

So, if you have trouble writing english, i could help- i dont know dutch but i know some German! I am 18, and I live in Oklahoma. The voting things are useless, and wiki administrators never really pay attention to them. But when they do come up, you just edit the page to show your stand on the topic.Anyone can vote. Did you hear- the Cold War started again? Russia pissed at the US- THey are always mad and afraid of someone- But we are better- I do agree economically, I think you ahould have the Eu and a Western Hemisphere completley free trade zone, so The White race can show the Chinks what the "master races" are made of.(IM not racist, just joking)I think Europeans, particularly the German subgroup, along with th US have a knack for learning and solving problems better. We build cooler weapons too. THe US is workinh completley laser equipping our armed forces by 2020. That means that artillery , tanks, and airplanes from other countries can be shot down , and their munitions prevented from even reaching half-way to their target! DOnt worry, the JSF that we are selling to Europe will be equipped and upgraded, so Europe will have some too- We promise to save you again in case of a WWIII- We still like Europe-, well except for France and Russia! user:Valento

I'm not sure what you are asking- I get what you are asking about the vote, and We will both probably get a notice on our discussion pages. I will make sure to tell you when it happens. Kirk Cameron is very active in the United States. If you have trouble typing something, just write it in Dutch. I can translate. I do not understand the whole licensing matter- please explain in dutch. I have made no edits other than my user page, and others talk pages. user:Valento

Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit you made to Personal relationships of Michael Jackson has been reverted, as it introduced negative or controversial biographical material without providing a reliable source for this information. Call for Wikipedians in Residence in Africa edit

Hello,

I hope you are well and thriving!! WikiAfrica has just put out a call for two Wikipedians in Residence. One in Cape Town at WikiAfrica, at the Africa Centre; and the other for WikiAfrica Cameroon in Douala, at doual’art. If you are interested, please contact either Marilyn [marilyn.doualabell doualart.org] for the WikiAfrica Cameroon call or Isla [islahf africacentre.net] for the WikiAfrica position in Cape Town.

If you are not interested in applying, I would be very grateful if you could spread this call far and wide among your networks to ensure that both projects get excellent candidates. Here is the link for the information page: http://www.wikiafrica.net/two-wikipedians-in-residence-for-africa/

Best regards, Islahaddow
