Sea in culture to GA?

edit

Thanks for your help on Sea in culture. I think, looking back at the article, that it's about ready for submission to GAN. Would you fancy giving me a hand shepherding it through to GA? Given that the article is well cited, it shouldn't be too much of a problem. (BTW I think I've already fixed your BracketBot issue above...) All the best, Chiswick Chap (talk) 14:20, 20 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Sure, let me know what needs to be done.
Great. I'll put the article in the GA queue - we may have a wait of weeks or months; please take a look at the article to check it for balance, things we've missed, and any claims that aren't justified by the evidence. I think it's pretty solid, specially from a European perspective; no doubt the coverage of maritime culture from faraway regions could be improved. Looking at the article now, I wonder if your additions rather unbalance the literature section even further towards Europe, and especially Britain? A reviewer might well pick us up on this. Either we should cut this down, or we should add more on literature from other seas. I'll do a little copy-editing to tone the bias down a little.
BTW, I know it's a ridiculous thing, but why don't you fix the redlink for your username by putting something on your user page? Reviewers automatically assume you're a more serious editor if you have a bluelink. I said it was ridiculous... but maybe worth doing. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Interest in Sebastian Sobecki

edit

Hello! I saw your recent edit to Geoffrey Chaucer and looking through your edit history I noticed that you have relatively few edits and that many of them (if not most) relate to Sebastian Sobecki’s research. It looks like you also created the page on Mr Sobecki. I greatly respect Mr Sobecki's research, and he is a respected figure in the field of academic medievalism. But having said that, I encourage you to disclose any wp:conflict of interest that might relate to your contributions. If I am mistaken and you are just an avid reader of Mr Sobecki's research, I apologise, but I also hope you understand my concern. While it’s fine to cite one’s own research within reason, disclosing conflicts of interest is essential to maintaining the neutrality of our project. CoatGuy2 (talk) 04:45, 4 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
