Hello Española: Thanks for getting back to me about the origin of the name of the town Española. Pleas note that I did not change your original version, I simply added another story of what the name might mean. And footnoted it. If you are suggesting that "Española" literally means " the Spanish woman's restaurant" I'd think again. Although I do not speak Spanish I have several Spanish-English dictionaries at hand and the closest that I can discover is "españolla" which is the feminine adjective of the noun España", meaning "Spain." So, it seams to me that the name means "Spanish woman" or "woman of New Spain". The woman in question very likely was Josefita, which suggests to me that both explanations are in their own ways correct. I am impressed with the detail with which you replied to me and am content with letting you decide how the article reads. - What are considered to be reliable sources for wikipedia is an on-going struggle. Almost any book contains some errors and sometimes those are what end up here. You quote the Rio Arriba Sun as yours and probably every week they publish a list of mistakes that they made the previous week. However, I am pretty clear that their story about naming Española did not have mistakes. If you go to your user page and put just one period (.) there then your usser name will apear in blue.
