Job strain Draft Peer Review
editHello. You did really good on your article draft! It seems like your found some good sources with information that is relevant to the topic. One thing I'd recommend is creating a good lead section. You could start out by stating what Job strain is and continue to give a brief overview of the topic. The Job strain Wikipedia article has a few good sentences that could be included in your lead section: "Job strain is a form of psychosocial stress that occurs in the workplace. One of the most common forms of stress, it is characterized by a combination of high demands and low levels of control regarding one's job."
I think that you did good on structure with your headings being logical and well thought out. For me, I think it would be a better read if instead of listing the causes of Job strain:
- Low salaries
- Excessive workloads
- Few opportunities for growth or advancement
- Work that isn’t engaging or challenging
- Lack of social support
- Not having enough control over job-related decisions
- Conflicting demands or unclear performance expectations
You could start out by saying something like "One cause of Job strain is a low salary." Then you could go on to explain the reason behind the different items that cause stress. For example, you could continue to say "...low salaries are a huge cause of job stress because housing is expensive" or "...because of inflation" etc. That's just my opinion though ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
You did well in keeping a neutral tone and the sources you found look good. I think maybe you should look for a few more sources. In a brief Google search of the topic I was able to find two good sources that you could use: https://unhealthywork.org/job-strain/a-brief-introduction-to-job-strain/ and https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0001879118301271. If you could just get a bit more information and a few more specifics into your article, in my opinion, it would be even more good than it already is.
