Welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, including your edits to DJ Snake, but we cannot accept original research. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, and ideas—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Please provide evidence of reliable third party coverage of this subject's date of birth. It is not acceptable to for you to take it upon yourself to "fill in the blanks" where reliable coverage does not exist. Please take exceptional care when modifying biographical articles documenting living subjects. Yamaguchi先生 18:07, 19 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:Moldovan Football Federation.gif

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Moldovan Football Federation.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 13:12, 28 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:SpencerandHill2011.jpg

edit

A tag has been placed on File:SpencerandHill2011.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted content borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Spokeo on Wikipedia

edit

In regards to these edits and edit summaries[1][2], Spokeo does not appear to be a reliable source. I was about to open up a discussion at the reliable sources noticeboard to see what the community thought about Spokeo, but there were already two threads about it. In this one, Fifelfoo noted that the website doesn't fact check their own claims, it's just populated by guesses from other websites who also don't fact check their claims. If you'll notice at WP:RS, fact checking is one of the most important qualities to seek in a source: "Articles should be based on reliable, third-party, published sources with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy."

Also the argument that "I know it's him" doesn't hold any weight here on Wikipedia. We need to show our readers that the information we're adding is coming from reliable, third-party websites by adding citations. In this case, you're suggesting that a combination of your own personal knowledge mixed with this generally inaccurate website is sufficient, and no Wikipedia editor would agree with that. According to our No Original Research Policy, your sources need to directly support your claims. In other words, the only source that should be used in this case is one that explicitly states that the bassist from Deftones and Quicksand was born on August 26, 1968, which will likely stem from an interview. Also note that failure to adhere to Wikipedia's core policies, which includes the ones on reliable sources and original research, may result in a temporary block or permanent ban from editing. Let me know if you have any questions. Fezmar9 (talk) 19:01, 4 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Verifiable

edit

This page explains Wikipedia's policy in verifiability. In short, something being true is not sufficient reason to include it on Wikipedia. A fact also has to be verifiable: that is, can be supported by reference to a reliable source. This is particularly true when dealing with biographies of living people -- see WP:BLP -- because of the legal implications. Bondegezou (talk) 17:04, 20 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Birth date of Frank Zummo

edit

Hey Erik, you did include the birth year of Frank Zummo into the article about him, which is a nice piece of information. Although the birth day seems quite reliable (e.g., Sum 41 facebook page), it seems like the birth year is quite difficult to find out (unless one knows Frank or his friends/relatives personally). Do you have any reliable source that could be put into the article? Otherwise, I fear we have to delete the claimed year again. Please let me know or just include a source into the article. Best, Joerg Bader (talk) 09:03, 14 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Please stop adding unreferenced or poorly referenced biographical content, especially if controversial, to articles or any other Wikipedia page, as you did at Frank Zummo. Content of this nature could be regarded as defamatory and is in violation of Wikipedia policy. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia.

It is not clear at all if the information at http://www.spokeo.com/Frank-Zummo/New-York/Wyandanch/p2016101109091130282396008372718 is reliable, and if Spokeo is refering to the "right" Frank Zummo at all. You already got similar warnings about Spokeo on your talk page. Joerg Bader (talk) 09:59, 19 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
