Welcome!

edit

Hello, Ericaslcheung, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Ian and I work with Wiki Education; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Your draft

edit

I moved your draft back to your sandbox because it wasn't ready for mainspace. There are a few problems that need to be fixed before it's ready.

  • Right now, the tone of the lead isn't right for a Wikipedia article. You open with is a board-certified ophthalmologist, mother of three, and managing partner at the Honolulu Eye Clinic who specializes in all of the ocular surgeries performed in infants and children as well as adult strabismus surgery. This is the kind of writing you see in a promotional blurb, not an encyclopaedia article. You need to focus on basic facts that summarize all the major points of the article. Page 9 of the Editing Wikipedia brochure (that I've linked here).
  • You need better sources. Wikipedia articles need to be based on reliable sources written by independent third parties. The sources you have used aren't independent, and they aren't from scholar sources, or major news sources with a reputation for fact-checking. Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 02:34, 24 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
