There are many ways you can contribute to Wikipedia. Here are a few ideas:
    Fight vandalism
Be a WikiFairy or a WikiGnome
    Help contribute to articles

    Perform maintenance tasks
Become a member of a project that interests you
    Help design new templates

Remember to always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the   button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your signature, a link to this (your talk) page, and a timestamp.

The best way to learn about something is to experience it. Explore, learn, contribute, and don't forget to have some fun!
To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own private sandbox for use any time. Perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put {{My sandbox}} on your user page. By the way, seeing as you haven't created a user page yet, simply click here to start it.

December 2013 edit

Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I've noticed that you have been adding your signature to some of your edits to articles. This is a common mistake to make and has probably already been corrected. Please do not sign your edits to article content, as the article's edit history serves the function of attributing contributions, so you only need to use your signature to make discussions more readable, such as on article talk pages or project pages such as the Village Pump. If you would like further information about distinguishing types of pages, please see What is an article?. Again, thank you for contributing, and enjoy your Wikipedia experience! Thank you. November 2015 edit

Hello, I'm Sideways713. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Tactile paving, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you.   While all good faith contributions are appreciated, please note that original research is not acceptable on Wikipedia and will be removed; all content must be verifiable and supported by reliable sources, preferably secondary sources. In addition, all Wikipedia articles should reflect a neutral point of view, meaning they are written in an impartial, encyclopedic tone and do not give undue weight to any viewpoint or aspect. Wikipedia is not the place to advocate a view.
Note also that edit warring is never acceptable. There is a bright-line rule called WP:3RR, or the three-revert rule, whereby reverting more than three times in 24 hours on any page is considered edit warring and is likely to result in a block; but 3RR is not an entitlement to revert three times per day. Edit warring is disruptive even if 3RR is not broken and may still result in the loss of editing privileges.
If you wish to reinstate the disputed content, please do not edit war; instead, discuss the matter on the article's talk page, support the content with high-quality reliable sources and seek a consensus among editors. Thank you. Sideways713 (talk) 19:37, 10 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
