Hi Emre D, thanks for your message which prompted me to check the article history again. All the vandalism by 163.153.84.22 (talk · contribs) had not been reverted. Check out this diff. It is easy to miss things like this when there is a rapid spree of vandalism and reverts. But thanks for your efforts and keep up the good work. BTW, when posting messages on talk pages it is good practice to sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your user name and the date after your message. Sanoinsc etc

Regarding the Microkini entry: Sanoinsc has been known on Yahoo for disrespecting the email delivery settings of his groups' members (he owns "Microkini Enthusiasts" and "Microkinists"), changing them to whatever he likes without notice and despite repeated complaints. Also, he is known for annoying the female members of his groups (via IM, email or public group messages) to post their photos. He removed the links to two neutral and unbiased (i.e. NOT affiliated to any manufacturer and NOT dedicated to any manufacturer's promotion) microkini- and thong-related communities and replaced them with promotional groups (the one for Dore and the other one for Wicked Weasel). Can this be classified as a mild case of vandalism? Elp gr 18:43, 1 March 2006 (UTC)

The vandal (68.5.145.178) is at it again. This time, he added some claims about me in the entry's discussion page that cannot be substantiated (for instance, an alleged connection with certain manufacturer). In my eyes, he's basically vandalizing this page to promote Colleen Kelly, Dore, Koala and Wicked Weasel. Perhaps this entry should be on the counter-vandalism team's watchlist from now on. I've reverted from 68.5.145.178 's edits. I haven't removed his "rebuttal" from the discussion page, so that, should you need to ask me if his claims are true or false, I'll respond accordingly. Again, I think this entry should be on the Counter Vandalism Unit's watchlist, because a few weird fanatic supporters of a small number of swimwear brands keep trying to spam whatever they can, in order to promote their favorite products. Oh and... Regarding his "security breech" (sic) claims: the constant pestering to female members in the "Microkini Enthusiasts" group on Yahoo (i.e. a continuous pic-begging) was happening in 2003, 2002, and all the way back to 1998, with messages sent by that group's moderator (Sanoinsc) and some other users. Sanoinsc's "blog". I finally sat down to read Sanoinsc's stupid blog entries regarding me and my group. How stupid can someone be? Simply by reading the messages in my group and comparing them to what he writes, one can only come to the conclusion that Sano's story is, to say the least, lacking. Oh, and something else: if I were out to promote any specific company, other makers would never have even gotten a favorable mention. Quite contrary to what has been happening elsewhere, i.e. in groups and forums where you were allowed to only like Colleen Kelly and Wicked Weasel. Oh, and when I started the Microkini entry, I hadn't put ANY links to ANY company - Sano was the one who added links to the companies he has been pushing. Elp gr 22:16, 17 March 2006 (UTC)

~~A Few Facts for the Record:

-The original Microkini Enthusiasts Group was moved and reformed on "egroups" in 1997. Egroups was sold to Yahoo in 2000 (around August?) and became "Yahoo Clubs". Then, for a period of about two weeks after Yahoo switched from the "Club" format back to the "Groups" format, Group Members were not getting any Group e-mails. After notifying the entire Group's Membership on two seperate occasions about the mix-up, they were then asked how they wanted to be contacted. All of those that reponded to the notification (100%) said they would like to continue to receive the monthly newletter however, many asked that they not receive ALL of the messages from every person posting. The option available was to set each Member's e-mail notification setting to something called "Special Notices" where Group moderator Messages went to everyone but other messages, including Messages posted my regular Members for the purpose of advertising, would be blocked. It became standard operating procedure to make any new Member have this setting as well and that was noted in the Group Guidelines, emailed to every new Member prior to being granted membership. After changing the Members' status to "Special Notices", not a single objection was ever brought to my attention by any current (at the time or since) Group Member.

-While the referenced communities have been a great resource for individuals with a penchant for swimwear, they're not specific to microkinis by any stretch. Therefore, since there is no open, public, microkini-related forum currently, it made sense to direct interested people to the top manufacturers of MICROKINIS and not to a forum where all manner of bathing suits, beaches, tanning, tanning salons and a variety of other topics are discussed. Since there are already Wiki pages on swimsuits, bathing suits, bikinis and even thongs, it made little sense to include links to forums with such broad subject matter.

-Despite receiving an e-mail containing the Group rules upon joining my original Microkini Enthusiasts Group, "Elp_gr" repeatedly posted links in both the Messages and Links section of the Group to "Alphamoda" bathing suits w/o permission and was subsequently banned in May 2003. Naturally, within a week of his being banned, I began to receive e-mails from Group Members that "Elp_gr" had opened his own swimsuit related Group and had started trashing me and my Groups. It should also be noted that for the past three years, "Elp_gr" has been posting links to Alphamoda and ONLY to Alphamoda, in dozens of Groups all over Yahoo.

-There have been dozens of photo-related discussions in the Groups' Messages over the past 11 years. In some of those discussions, Members male and female have been encouraged to post photos. No one has been "pestered" to do so at any time and if it is one person's perception that it has been too much for them, there is nothing stopping them from e-mailing me their concerns dierctly or leaving the Group altogether. Also, since "Elp_gr" was not a Member of the Group until April 2003, mention of occurences by "Elp_gr" prior to April 2003 are obviously fabrications.

Finally: The ongoing trashing of me and my Group by "Elp_gr" has been going on for nearly 3 years. By now, everyone who cares (a tiny number of people in a great big world) knows full well that "Elp_gr" hates me and my Group. I think they all got the message!

If only our friend sanoinsc spoke ONE word of truth... I left his "Microkini Enthusiasts" group a few months AFTER I had started my own. My group was founded on May 23, 2003 and I left the "Microkini Enthusiasts" group on my OWN accord months later, because of the Unsolicited Bulk Emails I and other people have been receiving: when your group/mailing list does NOT have an explicit rule that requires members to receive announcements in their inbox, you are sending Unsolicited Bulk Email, i.e. spam, when you change their settings from "no email" to "special notices". This is the reason behind all of this; had sanoinsc refrained from this practice, I would NOT have blacklisted him. Keep in mind, please, that, as my base is Greece, I adhere to European anti-spam and privacy protection legislation, which is far stricter than the pathetic "CAN-SPAM Act of 2003". I have a large number of people who can easily confirm what I'm saying - and anyone can check my group's messages, as I do not "conveniently" delete stuff (except for persons who go against the group's anti-spam and anti-pedophile policy; these are immediately reported, removed and banned). It seems our dear friend sanoinsc was ridiculed in the Thong Wearers Message Board, where he tried to take this preposterous war he's been staging. Although I have no affiliation with Alphamoda (if I did, my group would have certain privileges and I'd be belittling - to say the least - every other company), I do know that, in the days of the "huge thong messageboard", new manufacturers that entered the market came under fire immediately by "high-profile" users and moderators who kept singing the praises of the companies sanoinsc chose to advertize in the Microkini entry (whereas I had put up links only to the Thong Wearers Message Board and my group). Alphamoda was one of them. Vkini was another. And anyone who posted a "heads up" about some new vendor/manufacturer was accused of "spamming". The moderators, of course, turned a blind eye to the incessant spamming for pornographic websites and the various pic beggers. If sanoinsc's words were true, I suppose his group would have kept its popularity. It's all a childish "powerplay" and a difference in perspective. sano wants the whole microkini thing to be the reserve of a small elite strongly connected with swinger resorts and the "adult" industry, I, on the other hand, opted to remove whatever lewd connotations and make this swimwear genre more acceptable by the public. Anyone interested can very easily read the messages in my group; I'm not "conveniently" or "by coincidence" deleting things. -Elp gr 21:07, 4 April 2006 (UTC)

SUSE Linux

Hello Emre D -

I'm a little confused as to why you edited-out my entire entry. I looked at it again and did add the word "recognizing" before "network cards (I've read numerous entries in Linux forums bemoaning problems with SUSE not recognizing n-cards). I still believe everything else I said was accurate.

You may be an experienced Linux user - but, this version (10.1), as you're probably aware - was/is marketed to mainstream users. Therefore I believe, Novell needed/needs to advise potential customers of such. They are in denial, as Apple was about over-heating Mac Books - or, they simply haven't updated their thinking regarding to whom their product is marketed primarily. In other words, they're still operating on the preface that primary users are Linux geeks, who likely enjoy tinkering with and learning about this OS. I do as well (learning/educating myself about Linix)- but, getting a new Thinkpad and then spending the next four days working on getting SUSE/networking to run, wasn't on the agenda. I feel what I said was and is - a community service. Please note - I said nothing malicious about Novell nor SUSE - contrary to my disappointment with both.

As far as I can tell, almost all network controller cards (aka. Ethernet adapters) are recognized and supported by the Kernel. Unless you have a very exotic one, you shouldn't have a problem here. It identifies and lets you use your existing adapter easily. However, if you have a Wi-Fi network, probably 10.1 doesn't come with any drivers for your Wi-Fi adapter, because they don't exist legally. You have to use Ndiswrapper or mad wi-fi for this support. These methods work by using Windows specific drivers or reverse engineered ones. As a matter of fact, neither of these came with openSuse 10.1.

Anyway, I reverted according to WP:NPOV and WP:CITE. We can not just edit according to our own experiences. If Suse 10.1 is widely criticized of something, and if we can cite sources, then there is not a problem. However, most distro's have similar problems and it is because legal problems with GPL and lack of support by hardware manufacturers. This is not because Suse lacks support.

So; if you re-phrase it without personal experiences, you are welcome to do it. Also, you should add the question to the article's talk page.

As I side note, I wholeheartedly agree with some of your frustrations, but my belief is Linux is still not ready for prime time. You might have encountered worse problems, or simple problems with catastrophic results, both of which never happened to me with Suse. Anyway, Wikipedia is not a technical discussion forum and I wrote too much already. If you want, post in the article's talk page and after some kind of consensus, then make the edits.

Forgive me if I'm not answering with the proper protocol - but, I'm rather new -

I must disagree with you - I didn't include any personal references in the Wikipedia/SUSE entry. I did include information, which distinguishes Wikipedia from other sources of encyclopedic information; that is, information that the latter deem "informal," as you apparently do as well. If this sort of info was omitted from Wikipedia, then what's the point? I must as well ask you - are you working and/or receiving financial benefit from Novell/SUSE? It sounds like it. If my entry was omitted, then what one has left is a rather glowing review of SUSE, which is - in essence - false advertisement, via an informational perspective, commercial or whatever - it's misinformation by omission. My contention isn't so much with Novell/SUSE - but with falsehood.

My point was not about personal references, rather personal experiences. And to clear some misconceptions, please look at, what Wikipedia is not. Related to your message; Wikipedia is not informal; it is an encyclopedia. If one version of Suse does not include proprietary kernel modules, next one may. I hate Ubuntu for simple but personal reasons/problems, but I don't list them on Ubuntu page. (You should try Ubuntu once by the way.)

And I am not financially or emotionally related to Suse in anyway. I just use it for now, because it works for me. In fact, I have three distros (Suse 10.1, PCLOS 0.93,Dapper Drake) and XP installed. Despite, I mostly use Suse, I try a lot of different distros to find which suits me most.

Anyway, as you think I am not fair, please make a post in the article's talk page and ask for other fellow Wikipedians' opinion. However, as you weren't properly welcomed, please start by reading some helpful pages.

Also, in openSUSE 10.1 zen-updater, rug, Yast i.e. all Package management was terribly broken. That is a criticism and big mistake, but not an encyclopedic fact.

You are correct - it is all about fun. I became sucked into SUSE with the networking problem. I really had high hopes for it. I did try nsdwrapper (sp?) - system crashed - and have downloaded madwifi, but I'm having difficulty installing. SUSE is simply too much – and I really don't see benefits outweighing the costs in time and energy. I'm still interested in Linux - probably about to go out and buy a reference guide (any suggestions?). Funny you should mention Ubuntu. I'm probably going to try Kubuntu soon. Why don't you like it? In fact, mad-wifi and ndiswrapper need kernel modules to operate. If you don't have any precious experience with compiling your own modules, it is a hard work. However, official repos already have mad-wifi kernel available. As far as I can tell, Ubuntu comes precompiled with this modules. So, there is a good chance your network adapter will work out of the box. (Don't keep your hopes up) Anyway, subscription to a good friendly forum and lots of reading is a must for most Linux distros. I might recommend Wiley's Suse Linux Bible series, They are well organized and good reading for both the beginner and intermediate users. Don't forget to use www.opensuse.org Wiki, especially for trivial tasks.

My reason for not liking Ubuntu is not something technical. I don't like it and that is all. :) BTW, please try PCLOS too. That is a quite good distro for beginners, maybe better than Ubuntu. Anyway, the main point in this paragraph is; Not all Linux distributions are created equal, try to find one which suits you most. And don't forget to read some manuals.

Hope you continue contributing to Wikipedia. It is always good to have Wikipedians that we can talk about things in a civilized way.

Manmohan Singh article

Dear Emre D. I had made some chnages in Manmohan Singh article a few days ago. Please see the changes I made. I have mainly removed POV from this article. Statements such as "architect of modern India", "most highly respected" etc has been liberally used. This sounds like a advert/propaganda to me. I also removed some highly speculatory content from this article, for instance "on being nominated from assam in future" etc.

Large amount of material was not related to his biography at all and was simply inserted to advance a political agenda.

Cathyh another wikipedia user, immediately reverted back my edits and smeared it as vandalism. While I explained why I made the changes on the talk page, this user did not first talk to me on the page but went straight ahead and reverted the article citing it as vandalism.

Instead of informing me, this user asked another user hariSingh to "keep an eye" on "POVremover's Vandalism". I urge you to look into this matter and would welcome your support. POVremover 01:38, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

Thanks Emre. What Wiki guidelines required the speedy deletion of Fingerbootyology? Millions of people from around the world have viewed and many have participated in this experience which is the renewal of a Victorian era pasttime (furtling) with modern technology. I've read the policies and nothing jumped out at me. I'm still puzzled. Your original comment suggests that your concern was that this topic (trick) was too specific for inclusion.
