Speedy deletion nomination of Pastor Chris Ojigbani

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Pastor Chris Ojigbani requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. jsfouche ☽☾Talk 00:07, 26 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

A tag has been placed on Pastor Chris Ojigbani, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

=Status and Advice

edit

As reviewing administrator, I think that Ojigbani might just be notable , since there are 2 good 3rd party references. (I have moved the article to Chris Ojigbani, according to our style for article titles. ) The language was still a little promotional, but that's easy to fix, so I did so. A few references are still needed, and I marked them. There also needs to be a references to the books actually being best -sellers, and information giving the countries in which he has spoken & the stations on which he has broadcast . I advise you to do this very quickly, before the article gets nominated for deletion by a regular deletion process. Whether it will stand is up to the community, I am not at all certain, but you'll have the chance to make your case. DGG ( talk ) 17:06, 26 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

References Updated

edit

Thank you very much for your corrections. I have put the references you marked. I hope it is okay now? Thank you and Happy New Year. Emeka2011 (talk) 15:13, 27 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Another Update

edit

After putting the reference, I saw a warning stating "Please help to establish notability by adding reliable, secondary sources about the topic." So I removed one of the references which I took from Pastor Chris website (From the About US, where it is stated that his ministry is not a church). I have replaced it with one writeup from Daily Nation, a newspaper based in Kenya East Africa. I hope it is okay now. Though I have replaced the reference, the warning is still on the article page. Happy New Year. Emeka2011 (talk) 15:40, 27 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

I cleaned it up, & removed a tag, but it remains uncertain whether it actually meets our standard of notability. It might, but the community can judge this, not me personally. ~
