I'm Worldbruce and I want to welcome you to Wikipedia!
Wikipedia is an amazing community adventure which is constantly being edited. There are many different versions of Wikipedia for many different languages, and the English version has 6,828,456 articles which are written by volunteers like you and me! We even have a newspaper, The Signpost, to keep you up to date with news and new developments. Making your first steps on Wikipedia can be hard sometimes, so if you need any help, don't hesitate to leave a message on my talk page or ask a question on your talk page under a {{help me}} tag. Someone will help you soon!
Wikipedia has five pillars which summarise Wikipedia's fundamental principles:
- Wikipedia is an encyclopedia
- Wikipedia is written from a neutral point of view
- Wikipedia is free content that anyone can use, edit, and distribute
- Editors should treat each other with respect and civility
- Wikipedia has no firm rules

How do photos work? edit

I have asked two owners of photos to release them (one from each) for use in my article. They have sent the permissions, but I'm not sure how to locate the images now. Should I use "insert media"? Or? In one case, Peter Cooke was asked what article he was releasing the images for (by Wiki editor James Howe) and he replied, but I'm not sure what the order of operations is. The draft article text is ready to submit for review. Ellencooper (talk) 18:17, 23 September 2019 (UTC)
- You can submit the draft for a review right now if you want to; whether or not it has an image won't impact the review. I assume you uploaded the images to the Wikimedia Commons and they have since been deleted? When the permissions are properly received and dealt with, the images will be undeleted. Then you can add them to the article in question via "insert media"; right now I don't think there is an image to insert. Huon (talk) 20:50, 23 September 2019 (UTC)
