Hello, Editingpersona, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Ian and I work with Wiki Education; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Your articles

edit
  • Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret.
    • Some others have come in recently to address the issues tagged. What needs to be done next is to add content that is missing but is usually on these kinds of articles. That is a straightforward task requiring additional writing, so let's leave it to others.
  • Celine Dion
    • You could maybe do this one, but it would be a real challenge. It has been protected for a bit b/c of frequent violations of WP:BLP. The changes that might need to be done might be too much work for the level of approval and backup you'd have to get. So perhaps we should avoid.
  • Both of the list-style articles I think we should avoid. These ones aren't so terrible on the whole structurally or focus-wise --it would be mostly combing through the characters and streamlining their entries. But if you compare it to a really good character list article (such as List of Alien (film series) characters) then you'll see that, on the whole, these are not terrible. The train one is in a bullet point list, but that's actually a relatively quick change (if it needs to be done). So I think we should avoid.
  • Mamma Mia which specific page are you trying to do here? The film? The film article is ok, it just needs mostly a copyedit.

I think that maybe you relied too much on the copyedit tag? We're looking for articles that need a more substantial overhaul. You can try to find some more or pick up some leftovers, if there are some of interest. We can talk after class if you need to. Etherfire (talk) 15:11, 14 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Potential Articles

edit
  • New wave music
    • Even though a lot of people worked on this since those tags were added, there are some clear things to do here. It's a good one to do.
  • Gravity Falls
  • While this does have an ok structure, the content here is really scattered. However, I think a lot of this is new stuff. Perhaps we should let it settle a bit and leave it for a future class.
  • FanFiction.Net
    • This one is good. First thing you need to do is archive the talk page. Then you need to be bold here and reforge this into a more neutral and informative page--it still bears the legacy of a long history of WP:FAN
  • American Girl
    • Another good one. Lots to do here.
  • Percy Jackson
    • Let's leave this one be. It is semi-protected and seems a bit dynamic at the moment.

Much better finds! I added three (New Wave, Fanfic, American Girl) to teh WikiDash. Grab the two you want and assign them to yourself. Etherfire (talk) 15:35, 15 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
