User talk:Ecocharlie/Middle-Out Perspective (MOP)

Latest comment: 2 years ago by Ecocharlie in topic removed tag

We have contacted "deb" as instructed asking if we can have the talk here as this is the page we have been working on to further comply with Wikipedia guidelines. Currently there is a page which is offline at our user page; there is also one online (here) which had its talk page deleted. (apologies for the imprecision in understanding the different layers of wikipedia, there are many to learn and it is not always obvious where to find one's path).

In particular, we are attempting to comply with the COI guidelines as we learn. We disclosed our COI in the user page for this article, as we would for any published article. We did not initially use the "request edit" template or on the COI noticeboard (as defined in the COI guidance, copied below) but would be happy for further changes to be addressed in this fashion. We would like to finish adding the intended references the article before we undergo this step, as it helps the the notability, the verification, and the general neutral tone.

which are Editors with a COI should follow Wikipedia policies and best practices scrupulously:

you should disclose your COI when involved with affected articles; you are strongly discouraged from editing affected articles directly; you may propose changes on talk pages (by using the {{request edit}} template), or by posting a note at the COI noticeboard, so that they can be peer reviewed; you should put new articles through the Articles for Creation (AfC) process instead of creating them directly; you should not act as a reviewer of affected article(s) at AfC, new pages patrol or elsewhere; you should respect other editors by keeping discussions concise. we reread the external cite information and removed any links to external cites (other than Wikipedia) or as noted in references. We have also added additional citations as requested, this is still ongoing. Apologies, we did not quite understand how to write offline before publishing, or how to move pages on or off-line.
