Evoke engine edit

A tag has been placed on Evoke engine, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. User:Eclectus edit

A tag has been placed on on your user page, User:Eclectus, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person, and which is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages: user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam and the guidelines on user pages.

If you can indicate why the page is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of the page in question and leave a note on this page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Calton | Talk 09:45, 19 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Evoke Engine edit

I did not create the deletion afd; another user did. Once an Wp:afd is created, it cannot be stopped until concensus is achieved; that is how Wikipedia works. Taking the template down will not stop that process. You may contribute to the process and defend your article; please go to the link shown in the deletion template. thanks.--Pgagnon999 (talk) 13:33, 19 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Also note that WP:Canvassing other users to alter the outcome of an afd (as you have done to a number of users) is highly frowned upon here; it seems that you are new to all of this, so no big deal, but you may also wish to carefully read WP:Conflict of interest regarding your involvement with the article. I'm not positive it applies in this case, but it would be worthwhile to understand it anyway. --Pgagnon999 (talk) 14:21, 19 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia is not, I think, the place for an article about your engine. Perhaps you should consider making a blog or other website and updating it with status reports on your progress. For something to deserve a Wikipedia entry, it needs to be notable, which generally means "...it has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." In other words, someone besides yourself has had to write something—not on Wikipedia—about your engine in order to make it notable. Even then, you shouldn't make an entry on it, because writing about your own work is a conflict of interest at best and original research at worst. Perhaps after your engine has been released and it's had time to gain notability, someone will write an article about it. Until that time, it doesn't fit the guidelines of Wikipedia. • You asked me to remove my delete comment from the AfD for Evoke engine. I will not. My opinion stands. WP:Canvassing is also not allowed.--Pmedema (talk) 17:00, 19 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of File:EvokeEngine2.jpg edit

The file File:EvokeEngine2.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:01, 25 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:EvokeScreenshot1.jpg edit

Thank you for uploading File:EvokeScreenshot1.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 04:45, 20 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
