It's a really nice picture, indeed. However, considering how strict the FPC reviewers are, I'm not sure about its feature potential. The whole picture is slightly blurry, and the eye isn't really clear. I'm not sure. I can't answer for him but a note to Evan, please read up on policies and practice typing a bit more before working on a large article. It's very time consuming and needs a lot of attention. I can tell you're starting to get better at typing but If you want to work on an article, work on a small one first, then work your way up. Dylan620- I'm going to try and get one of your requested articles done today, to take a break from Hurricane Ele (2002), so I can try and get back into my editing spree. Ele has been a bit frustrating due to the lack of public advisories and what not but the three you've requested should have discussions for each advisory. GA tutorial re.

Haha, I wouldn't think of myself as someone who is able to teach how to write, since I'm not a great writer myself. However, since you're working to become an admin, I'll definitely do what I can to help you out :) Since I'm going to be at school until 3pm and other random stuff then going with my parents to vote, I'll most likely be home late today. I dont mind that system for storms in NHC/CPHC AOR as there products do you use Mph/Km/h but for storms in JMA, NADI and BOM's AOR i prefer using knots (mph/kmh) because they use knots. Jason Rees (talk) 14:14, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

I can probably help out. I think the best thing to do is look at the featured articles, and compare articles to them. Remember, articles are the sum of two halves. One half of the good/featured article is the writing. If you cannot identify typos and poor writing (as well as poor formatting, such as with fullstops and commas), then you need to do some reading up on them. If you are in school, then pay attention to your writing/English/grammar classes. The writing is such a crucial aspect. One easy way to fix up your writing is to use the spell-check feature in your internet browser. I use Firefox, which automatically underlines words that are misspelled. If you don't have the feature, I suggest you consider getting it.

As I said, the articles are the sum of two halves. The other half, which is just as important, is the content, the raw facts, the research. For a tropical cyclone article, you need to know all of the details on the storm. For the met. history, you need the origins, how it strengthened, how it moved, landfalls, how it weakened, etc. Ideally and perhaps what is needed, an outsider should be able to read a met. history and know exactly what happened with a storm. For the impact, it's the same scenario. It's not just important that the storm caused rains, winds, and surge. It's important to know what each aspect did, in every single known place that the storm affected. It's a lot of work to make a good tropical cyclone article (for ones that affected land, at least).

No, I've never admin-coached anyone, and I'm hardly the ideal admin candidate - I got in for my writing! However, while you are getting instructed, maybe you could ask Juliancolton for some tips, as well, since he has written a good share of articles. With timelines, the best source is the TCR, it has all the 6 hourly advisories and the landfalls in one document. Look at the references for the 2003 timeline, most are TCR's. I sorta forgot...Since you've already started working on the 2001 timeline, the best way to learn how to make on is mirror the 2003 through 2007 timelines (all of which are featured). 2001 AHS Timeline

Jsut to let you know - I edited your sandbox timeline on the 2001 AHS earlier. As for some strange reason the timeline that Elena made up for your sandbox is showing the text, but none of the current season timelines are showing up bar the 2008-09 SWIO. Yeah i saw that you had written the timeline of the 2001 AHS - it looks good and ive supported it, THough make sure you take heed of my comments above because you dont want to bat away comments on the bugzilla problem. - (Myself and Julian supported Cyclone biskit and batted some comments away earlier in 1983 FLC)

To be honest im not surprised you struggelled reviewing Gene because i had problems writing it lol especially as most of the TCWC Wellington warnings are not archived. This is a problem i am going to have to overcome this season when we get going within the SPAC which shouldnt be too long now, esspecially as we are now active in the SWIO and the AUS basin.
