Request reason:

i would like to do another unblock request. I thought that splitting up edits in smaller parts to get edit count up was allowed, before Luk3 pointed out that it was not. It was for the purpose of unlocking the translation tool.It is my first infringement as a new user and i have not been given any warnings before the block so i hope i can get a 2nd chance. The edits were on my userpage so no articles were disrupted. I have pasted an improvement to a wikipage as requested. Thank you for your time in advance. With kind regards

Decline reason:

You continue to demonstrate you don't understand WP:RS. Please edit somewhere else for a while. Please make a new unblock request once you can demonstrate at least six months of editing elsewhere with at least 500 non-trivial edits. You'll also need to demonstrate you understand WP:RS. Yamla (talk) 12:27, 31 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

On second thought, while Drakkar68 clearly hasn't followed the instructions, I'd be willing to take their case to the blocking admin if they provide a clear and correct explanation of WP:RS in their own words, along with a commitment to properly cite all future non-trivial changes and to refrain from the garbage edits we saw with this account. Drakkar68, you aren't obligated to do so. You could instead take the approach of editing elsewhere for a while to demonstrate, unlike your prior edits, you plan to contribute constructively. --Yamla (talk) 12:39, 31 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Reference

edit

Good day.

Before i do an explanation in my own words about the referencing rule i would like to ask why the references in my last ban appeal were withheld to understand it better

References considering user generated content are allowed if the information is about themselves, as long as the 5 criteria are met:

1.The material is neither unduly self-serving nor an exceptional claim.

2. It does not involve claims about third parties (such as people, organizations, or other entities).

3. It does not involve claims about events not directly related to the subject.

4. There is no reasonable doubt as to its authenticity.

5. The Wikipedia article is not based primarily on such sources.

The reference was a link to the official account of the developers, where they put down an official statement about the delay of their game, so in my opinion it can be used since the 5 criteria are met.It was also the reason why i used it @Yamla:

Honestly, this is sufficient to demonstrate you do understand WP:RS, and exactly why I said, "On second thought". Your sources weren't great and certainly aren't the "well researched" citations requested by the 2nd chance template, but are sufficient for the specific information you are adding. I will contact the blocking admin to request permission to lift your block. --Yamla (talk) 10:31, 1 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Stop

Welcoming obviously abusive users is inappropriate. Please stick to constructively editing Wikipedia articles rather than spamming the welcome template or tweaking your user page. You were extended a second chance, now's the time to demonstrate you are here to build an encyclopedia. --Yamla (talk) 10:59, 4 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

I will be more careful about looking into if they were abusive users.
I passed the new user ones that got banned for being to close to the name of an already well known editor and those that did get banned for some other reasons.
The rest i welcomed were people with no edits at the time so no indication they were abusive.
Welcoming new users that want to constructively edit can help them not make the mistakes i did by giving them a bit of a direction to go to. Also gives motivation to try to start. Contributes to a better wikipedia
Not planning to make this purely a welcoming account though. To many new users for that. But i try to do some every day like other editors if i have time.
Busy with finetuning a new article addition about a chinese cultivation game before i put it in the article wizard for review around tuesday or the day after. It is a good exercise. Just takes a lot of looking up things and reading help pages here.
