Editing and Vandalism edit

Hey, I thought I'd add a few words on reverting vandalism - I know that it can get heated and seem very urgent. If you follow articles and revert vandalism, it's always requested that you add different levels of warning to the user's talk page as you do so. Much easier for an admin to block if there's a history of warnings! :)

Do you have access to Wikipedia:Twinkle yet? It will be listed as TW with a chevron next to it in the "edit" bar (with Article/Talk/Read/Edit/View History, etc). When the talk page of the reverted user is auto-opened, you can use this to Warn (levels 1 through 4). It'll add a standard message, referencing the article reverted, and sign your username. You can add a few words if desired.

Let me know if you need any help! I'm no expert, but I'd be happy to provide what help I can. Oh! And don't ignore the Wikipedia:Teahouse - it can be a great place to learn. CMacMillan (talk) 01:34, 28 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for the advice and recommendation, I really appreciate messages like these. I didn't know about twinkle, but its now enabled! And thank you also for the offer of help; I might just take you up on that sometime. Doll Allison (talk) 01:49, 28 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
